All the complaining about not having a map, when you learn the cities layout by playing for like 4 hours and doing the noob quests that lead you around. WOW, you learn the game world by playing — a novel idea for an RPG in 2025.
15-16 years old hugging walls and following roads to find shit. Learned most outdoor zones quickly but fuck the cities, never could navigate any of them well no matter how much time I spent. So full of horse shit. Your ass didnt learn a single EQ zone ‘by playing’ in the day. You were on eqmaps.com printing shit out like every other grandpa here.
I never printed out a single map or used that site

You did not get to Sebilis, or Chardock, or Western Wastes for the first time without a map. Unless of course you were the absolute donkey making self sufficient guildies lead you around by the nose. And even if you were, they were using a map to do it.
There was no guide telling us to camp odd NPCs, we literally found them ourselves and to your point shared them within the guild
Some examples? As an open pk guild on RZ we leveled at many strange places that are even empty on p99
