There are npcs that respond to things that are not one of the words they said btw. I’m not sure how extensive a list of npcs this might be but I’ve gotten a few unexpected tidbits just from saying ‘help’ or ‘tell me more’ here and there

I haven’t played in prob 3-5 months but I was unimpressed with the town guards when I was trying to ask directions to the warrior guild

Any of you guys got a team of high teens on Relle? My group is gonna be playing in an hour and a half or so, would be fun to go for bone construct. Last night there were not many people online between 15 and 20.

Had fun with the game this weekend. Didn't get high enough level to make any kind of judgement on it, but will give it another go on future open playtests.

One thing seemed weird to me, it looks like they broke the EQ Ranger into three different classes (Ranger, Archer, Spellblade)? Not sure what the draw for them is supposed to be.

Played my enchanter most of the afternoon. Surprised how easily I can charm and keep a red compared to even/yellow cons. I’d say the break time on charm didn’t seem different been mob cons; but obviously the red beat me up way worse when it broke charm.

edit: only level 10 on enchanter definitely not high level insight.

IMO the worst decision they made with this game was taking EQ Ranger and splitting it into 3 shitty classes instead of just… making Ranger actually good?

Seems like they wanted to do something different but just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

I do like the idea of the Ench/Tank hybrid, and I think it’s criminal they didn’t make a Vanguard Blood Mage or Disciple style class

Ranger still has way better kit than the other 2. They went and added more archery tools into ranger that is somewhat weird from the archer perspective.


Spb current iteration is better and worse. Proc rate is better, but being stuck with lower level nukes that aren’t worth the mana casting and procs a tier lower feels bad. Once I level and get back to where I was previously, might be a bit better but. .. they need to brain it harder and stick with a design. As is, I don’t think the procs/nukes are even close to monks or rog at a low ish level. Being able to peel and root is nice, but modern mmo brain doesn’t grok that very well.

Isn’t that just cause they don’t have stats/tuning figured out? Spellblade proccing a lot now but that isn’t necessarily going to always be the case.

I imagine with the stats being reworked they’ll get a lot of useful data out of this short playtest.

Yeah- that was the story. But sledgehammering procs globally to fix that was a bad idea. That got rolled back, but you don't really ever want to make global changes for things that only appear in the last 10% or whatever. Fix the outliers.

Still the best by miles even with the nerfs. The quasi rollback of the nerfs was more about other classes being so much worse due to their weapons just not procing lol

Cannot give too much detail, but we did a raid encounter on the closed server 2 nights ago and it involves offtanking some lvl 55 adds and killing them 1 by 1 before killing the big boss. The one the spellblade was offtanking was at 70% when the rest of the raid (22-23 people) killed the other add and switched to it. Only the spellblade on it.

Offtank? I thought Spellblade was leather, does armor not really matter that much?

Finished up the beta weekend, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Everything is very old school as intended and I like the design of everything. It definitely has that feel to it where I can see great things.

However, I went on an adventure to just check the map out, and as much as I liked everything, once I ended up realizing I basically walked the entire map minus the indoor zones, it felt a bit small perhaps. Maybe 1/5 the size of the original EQ map. BUT I loved everything I seen and it's all definitely off on a great start.

World is only about 20% finished so far is what Shawn has estimated. I don't feel like it's too small, but still I'm very eager to see what else they're going to have in store for us.

Barely getting to play this test, but doing a little soloing on my Fighter and I was expecting the changes to TTK and mob/player damage ratios to make it feel a lot worse. It really didn't, fighter still feeling strong even solo at 10 anyhow.

I didn’t get as much time as I’d have liked, but leveled a Beastmaster and Shadowknight to 5 and got a feel for both starting areas. The lack of a map at first was really getting me, but once I slowed down and started actually learning the areas, I did pretty well. Night Harbor is definitely easier to navigate than the Wood Elf area, but the ambiance of the giant forest pretty much guarantees it may be my starting area of choice once this releases. Hope this does well and these guys get to build this game out to their hearts content.

I had fun. Didn't quite get to 20 on wizard, so wasn't able to try out quad kiting. Got my enchanter to level 11 today farming Thugs and Farmhands in Sungreet Strand. The chaos of big pulls and pet breaking can make for some exciting times. Had another enchanter in the group who was experimenting, he charmed a dunes madman - that thing was doing some damage, and damn near killed the guy a couple of times when it broke.

Can't say I noticed anything particularly different combat wise with regards to TTK or missing more. Resists or nuking for 1 still feels incredibly bad on wizard, but that's part of it! We really wanted to explore deeper in Tel'Ekir last night, but a power outage on our fighter nixed that.
