Fighter is fun. I am 18 on Elementalist and have only looted one caster item, the burnt rune staff. I have gotten a decent amount of melee stuff though, so rolled a fighter as my alt. Feel like a total unit in the group.

Not sure if it’s intended or not but you can transfer summoned items in the bank. Been taking a bit of time to load my fighter up with heavy cloth bandages from my Elementalist. Helps out big time.

I’ve been quite impressed with how useful bandages and bind wound are.

Fighter sounds like a real nice evolution from EQ Warrior

I don't know how the EQ warrior played but it plays a lot like WoW warrior with no rage management, which is great. You can do some spectacular DPS in offensive stance if you get the opportunity AND they added triple attack at 55. It has a really good amount of interaction compared to most classes, you have to be really careful on your cooldowns though if you're tanking. It definitely needs some tweaking and I put in some feedback thoughts on the Discord, excited to see where this class goes.

Not many skills in yet but I bet they have some nice stuff coming down the pipe if other classes are any indication.

So people that crocodile tears'd night blindness out of the game suddenly aren't going to do the same with their ub3r k3wl deep race characters with day blindness of it functions the same way?

How is that me straw manning again? This exact thing happened on p99, same crocodiles tears and bs. Exact same "broke muh puter" crap. Do you know what exactly the same means as Id apply it here or are we getting into those semantics too?

"EverQuest is a different game so it's not exactly the same" is about the level of discourse I expect around here.
Let's go with the assumption it functions the same as night blindness. There were in-game work arounds for night blindness: lamps, torches, fire beetle eyes, etc. What is the in-game work around for day blindness??

Obviously all the deep races must be tinkerers so they can wear their:

Don't switch the blade on the gnome in shades, oh, no
Don't masquerade with the elf in shades, oh, no
I can't believe it
Don't be afraid of the dwarf in shades, oh, no
It can't escape you
'Cause you got it made with the Troll in shades, oh, no

Imagine a company making the decision to have 30% of the screenshots, videos, and streams released for their game during daylight be intentionally blurry? Marketing fucking disaster.

Not gonna happen. Not worth discussing.

I tried Fighter and now I'm even more torn on what class to roll for EA.
Fighter is that fun? EQ Warrior was boring as most EQ melee classes were.

I am considering Shadow Knight, Wizard, Bard.

Please elaborate on fighter.

Is this game decent? I can't get myself to play it. Something about it just seems retarded.

Dont get offended by my comments as im patiently waiting for CU 🤣

Seems like classes that used to be boring have some interesting mechanics now. I rolled a cleric since our group didn't have a healer and was bracing for boredom but they are much more melee focused than in EQ. They get a spell early on that summons a pretty good mace and then another 1m spell that is quickcast and barely no mana for STR, +1 mana regen, and procs 4% haste that lasts 30s and can stack up to 5 times. If you're killing pretty frequently you can keep a 20% haste going with +1 mana regen and outdamage the healing you would normally need to be doing

You do big damage, and you're super tanky. You can look at their skill list and get the gist, it's a pretty simple class but it feels really good to play. Got a life tap proccing dagger and was an absolute beast. I think I only got to like level 10 or something I imagine they scale well. Someone in Alpha/beta can give better information I'm sure.

As was mentioned, it's closer to the wow warrior back ported to EQ. DPS and tank stances- having a mostly functioning charge makes a relatively huge difference in mobility.

On top of this I'd say it feels the most interactive without being annoyingly so. Every ability matters, it's only cooldowns and opportunities to use them. The fear feels really nice with a CC class, they don't seem to run far away (so far) and it makes it easy for things to be mez'd. I wouldn't use it in a dungeon though. Also the 6 second stun with an ability to have it reset on your main attack proc is really fun. It has a somewhat low cooldown so you're just rocking things.

If your shouts are on cooldown you are not getting aggro back (at level 10 that is).

I have no input on SK, haven't played one.

I can get with that. Makes me want to check it out a lot more. How is Shadow Knight?
Fairly similar to eq version. Taps, snare and fear, fd. Just about what you’d expect. The knights get a channeling cooldown for getting spells out when you’re getting beat on by a train.

Their Harmtouch seems quite underpowered is my only real complaint.
