I was wondering about performance. I get lots of hitching on a 9800x3d/9070xt with these shit graphics.

Really?

Outside of NH and FP I don't get too much in the way of graphical issues.

There are some monster memory leaks going on atm, one in FP and then one if you started your day in NH. Best practice is basically when you get out of NH just restart your client entirely (to desktop).

The other day I was up to 24 gigs of ram consumed by the game before Alt-F4ing and I'm on a 9070, most the time I'm at 100 FPS or so.

Tin foil hat theory is that morning cycles have some issue where something isn't being cleared out of memory so the more days you are out and about, the more memory your client will be consuming.

Might be worth posting on their forums about it. There’s (dozens!) of people running it on Linux.

I've gotten it to run on Linux. It's their stupid launcher that has a hard time running on Linux. The game client itself runs fine through Steam using Proton.

I got a script I made that runs the launcher just fine using the official Linux launcher then another script that launches the game. I have to do them separately because the launcher can't launch the game (???)

How does that authenticate the game without the patcher? Do they have a /nopatch?

That's exactly the problem I had. lol

If you add mnm.exe to Steam use --patchme for the command line argument, and it should run fine. You'll just need to use the launcher from time to time to update the game.

This games launcher is very weird. I have no problems using battle.net through Steam. EQL's launcher works great too. If I remember right, they use Edge or something stupid for it which is why Linux has a hard time handling it.

Edit: I just ran the game to make sure it was still working(it did), then patched it, I tried running the game after patching and now it won't load. Meh...I will figure it out again before EA.

what's funny is when I was working through this on chatgpt it kept pulling answers from this forum directly as it's source

Yeah I could not get crossover working the way I had in the past... then, I followed that kinda odd script and "Just do it" instructions- and it works, you have to run the patcher to auth and patch, then /play to just launch into the game

I am on mac, so its always fun to get anything thats a "game" going
