Am I remembering right that a director/producer/whatever for the first movie said they omitted Johnny from it because it "doesn't feel right having a white male main character in the current climate" (which was 2020)?

One of the dumber, more self-sabotaging things I've ever seen during the marketing phase of a movie, but luckily for the movie, it kinda flew under the radar.

After that it's kind of funny how now they're making the second one JOHNNY CAGE-A-THON: ALL JOHNNY ALL THE TIME

And now this new one divides the good guys and bad guys up into a blue side and red side respectively on the poster. The fuck.

Well, I'm hearing this movie is awesome, probably gonna go see it today.

About time they did an actual tournament in an MK movie. Very few of the actual games had a tournament either. Maybe just the very first one? And MK9 / MK1 (12) did too I believe, given that both are re-telling MK1 (1) to an extent.

But it's still preferable to the old Mortal Kombat 2 movie from the 90's that tried to shove everyone into the movie and they all ended stupidly cheap-looking and dead in 3 seconds.

Annihilation was such dogshit. Killing Johnny Cage off immediately. Killing Rain off without him even having a fight. What was the point of this stuff? And they planned a third one too, glad it got shitcanned.
