I forgot the modern cutoff wasn't sure if Rav1 made it (blanked on BOP in Zen or whatever too) - with Bob I should've known better though.

But its quite greedy, and of course relies on a second fight target. Probably some quick annihilator combos that would work more ideally. Sovereign of Alara etc.

I dunno. I haven't seen eternal playables outside of the fetches. You'd need to open a bunch of foil EDH all-stars to get your money back on a case.

When the rotation happens Theros block is going to go from being secondary to Return to Ravnica to being secondary to Khans.

Of course when I go look online I see that SCG is selling boxes of every set in Standard right now at a discount with all of Theros block and Dragon's Maze for 79.95. If I did nothing but wait to buy I would have saved 20 bucks per box off what my local game store charges for preorders. Even Return to Ravnica is discounted to 94.95.

Pretty sure I just talked myself out of buying anything.

Buying a few boxes of JOU is a really good deal if you're willing to take the time trading the cards. TCG mid average on the contents of a box of JOU is ~117 last I checked. So if you buy boxes at 80 and can come out 1 dollar ahead on each trade you can get some sick value out of a box.

I'm willing to bet Standard will be dominated by Theros block cards. Most of the cards spoiled so far in Khans are clunky 3 color 5 drops. You can't make a deck out of shitty 5 drops. Meanwhile, Theros-block constructed decks were really versatile and powerful for a block constructed format, which makes me think Standard decks are going to look at lot like Theros block decks.

We're about to see a standard dominated by Courser/Caryatid. I've seen nothing in Khans yet so far that looks to be solving that problem. I actually love the set, and feel like it is doing a great job with all 5 wedges, but the color requirements are very heavy.

So far, Sultai and Temur seem like the color pairs to be in. Go figure, they're both going to run a full complement of Caryatids and probably Coursers. Temur MIGHT want Rattleclaw instead if it ends up the ramp deck, but probably not.

As for purchasing, I've decided to wait. I only need 8 fetches anyway, and I'm confident that they'll continue to fall off from these preorder prices. I can already find Deltas for $19 online if I look hard, and demand is through the roof. There will be so many boxes of Khans opened that any non-foil rare will be a piece of cake to find. Foils are another matter. I expect to be paying through the nose for foil fetches pretty much from day zero.

Indeed he is. All these high rate 3 drops to snag, plus half the decks are going to be playing with their top card revealed. Having played him in some goofy decks vs. Coursers, I can honestly say he is about twice as effective when you can basically fateseal them.

That'd put you in BUG if you want to go three colors. Could even play your own Coursers.

Someone break this card:

It's an instant. All you have to do is fill your GY with 20 cards, then cast it EOT for 10 2/2s. Seems pretty insane to me.

Oh ho, people were talking about that card on Friday and no one mentioned it was an instant. That makes it a very interesting one-of in any deck that can poop out BBBB

All of the delve cards and the Sultai enablers seem too slow to me. I also don't think standard is going to be as dominated by Courser and Caryatid as you guys think. It is very easy to go wide on them with a token deck and it seems that tokens are being pushed hard with Mardu. We still need to have more spoilers, but I really do think a token deck will be viable in the coming standard environment.

Also, it's telling that there are a lot of aggressively costed creatures that can't be blocked by Courser and/or Caryatid or have four power.

Clever Impersonator is the card that has my attention :

The inclusion of fetches into the block makes Courser even more nailed on to be a key card.

I'd like to make a RUG deck work based around Caryatids, Coursers and some of the following (Mindswipe is the biggie) :

Good to see more people hating on tricolor. Man I hate tricolor nonsense.

Manascrew is bad enough already without ridiculous mana hoops to run through.

This will be another light year of play for me.

Current legendary keeps one, so it would do nothing. Oldest would be replaced, and the "no extra turns" clause would stop the trigger from the first from doing anything.

At least with my understanding of it.

Nod, in that hypothetical better to just run 4 nexus' and some sac outlets.

I'm not sure what would happen if you legendary ruled one then sacced the other though.

You'd get 1 extra turn for sure, but not sure on 2 with the phrasing.
