Mostly because maynard has been phoning it in since about 2001.
I saw perfect circle before their big hiatus and after and they were the exact same fucking setlists. Come to think of it, 3 of the 4 worst concerts I've ever been to have had maynard involved.
And yes - seeing bands past their prime completely ruins them. I saw Megadeth for the last time in like 2013 with Amon Amarth and they were old and slow then. Every song was down tuned for Dave's voice and was a half step slow. Why the fuck would I want to see them a decade later?
So happy I skipped out on what became the last Type O Negative tour. I don't have to have a memory of Pete reading the fucking lyrics off while not playing bass. Super happy I never saw Slayer post-Jeff.
