Green benefits greatly from playing off the ball and in the flow of an offensive featuring two incredible outside threats who also emphasize ball movement. Green isn't the type of player to carry a team on his own outside of the context of such an offensive. Whether one wants to value the all-around efforts of Green or the shooting threat and scoring threat Thompson is perfectly valid in debating their second best player. That discussion isn't really a valid point in Ambiturner's comment, which was certainly stupid as are most "why don't they just cover the players scoring" type of comments. But it's equally stupid turning that into an argument over who is second best and claiming Green could carry the team. The initial comment was more about scoring, not who the second best player on the team is. And while Green may be the second best player, Iguodola is more of the 'can carry the team' type of player than Green.
Conclusion: both stupid comments.
