Young is surprising a lot of people. They both have played well, but Young has exceeded expectations.

Comparing Ayton and Young is weird because they're play very different positions. Young is clearly being asked to do more than Ayton is, but Ayton is crazy efficient. Ayton is a good but not elite defender at this point, and we all know what Young is on that end of the floor. They're both clearly doing very well right now so it's a bit silly. We can all agree that the big issue with that draft is Bagley going 2nd?

The whole sequencing of the Mavs front office stuff is pretty wild. Really interesting was how Carlisle was all about Kidd publicly, while Luka seemed to want Mosley promoted who was there under Carlisle. Wonder if that means there's some kind of issue between Mosley and Carlisle. Maybe they should Thunderdome on PPV.

Totally cool with this. A Sportsology recommendation. Dude has insane credibility around the league with players. My #1 thing I didn't want was the Mavs to just hire from in-house candidates. This is pretty much Mark handing over the keys to this guy with Finley staying in place as VP of Operations. The big question here will be on court philosophy etc.
This is also a very obvious assessment that the Mavs know they have to get far better at attracting other players. Luka was so good so early, that we never got a chance to build through the draft. We have to be able to sign some guys.
The Kidd hire, I'm "meh/ok" on. He's there for the locker room. Hopefully we won't be garbage.
