I go about twice a year. Its worth it for big budget effect movies. I loved seeing Top Gun Maverick in the theater. The Dune movies were also pretty great in a theater. I want to see how the new Tron movie reviews. If the review is descent, I might go watch that one.

yeah i've seen Mission Impossible, Thunderbolts, F1, Superman, F4, and Weapons in theaters this year and only F1 was worth the price of tickets/driving. Everything else I would have enjoyed more at home.

I don't think movies are worse or anything, the cape movies are about the same level of quality as phase 1 MCU, its just that people like Nolan and DenisV (Dune/Blade Runner 2049) have elevated the visual aspects for spectacle movies that regular action movies are hard to be impressed by in theaters anymore. F1 felt wild because of all the crazy tech they created to simulate driving an F1, so that was intense and wild.

If you like music theater then the new Wicked will probably be fun in theaters, and for some reason every person on the planet goes to see Avatar even though nobody remembers a single thing about it afterwards. Can't think of anything else this year i'd have to see in theaters.

Its $12 for an adult ticket where I am. $24 bucks for the wife and I to watch something new isnt bad for cost per hour. IDK why you would ever buy concessions though, while its how theaters make their money I cant justify it.

We saw F1 at the theater and it was worth the $24 for the pair of us. At this point, the only thing that gets us in a theater is something made for the big screen like F1 or TopGun Maverick. No regrets. Forgot about Fantastic 4. It basically sorta blew except for the Galactus stuff.

When we go to a movie (and last one was Deadpool & Wolverine , one before that was Top Gun : Maverick) the wife puts on her large purse/backpack and we load up before we go to the theater.
I did an AMC in south Charlotte back in the day, they make most of their money on snacks , especially on new movies where they only get a small %% of the ticket price.
