I am not saying it was Kaeps fault soley for the 49ers being terrible. How ever he was a contributing factor. Stats are not everything. Easy to pad in garbage time.

Or the flip idea, 49ers league worst D blew 3 or 4 double digit leads for kaep last year.

Btw, I'm not advocating that Kaep is somehow super superior to Smith. But I think he was at least as good/better for Harbaugh at the time than Smith would have been. I also think Smith has gotten better/is much more comfortable under Reid's system in KC.
