Looks like he's unprotected so they would be foolish not to.

For all the "gm's have learned their lesson" talk i've been hearing around the webs, Seattle could piece together a decent to good roster for next season looking at all the unprotected. Not that it's any gm's fault per se. Flat cap is really helping the Kraken here.

Mildly surprised we protected Sprong over Sheary as the last forward, not too surprised to see TVR as the last D man, though. Pretty sure we'd prefer them to take Schultz or Dillon if we had our way to help clear some cap space.

Khudobin protected, will probably be Dreiger to go and Florida still has two great goalies left to play. Montreal must be betting on the salary of Price protecting him.

Also what happened to Philip Francouz? That guy was amazing but I know he was out all last season on an injury. How is he protected, I didn't even see him on the list?

Not really surprised by who the Caps protected/left unprotected, but I kind of wish we had left Kuzy and Carlson open. Too much money for what they bring to the table

Carlson still is one of the top point producers among D men in the whole league. It's going to look bad before the end of that contract, but we'll have to do a pretty full rebuild in another year or two anyways so he can hold out through that. Same with Kuzy, honestly. If he gets taken, we're just nothing next year down a top 6 center.

I really hope they dont. It would be a great narrative for one season. And then Price's mediocre play with catchup to him along with that god awful contract and hamstring the team for 5 years. I really hope they go Driedger, Vanecek and Kakhonen.
