If true, yeah. I was thinking he was looking for a 2 year bridge deal so the cap can go up more, then get the fat contract. Problem with that is this is the last year anyone can sign an 8 year contract and Kaprizov is already 28. I had thought he was 26 or so. He's a UFA after this year, so maybe he wants out.

I think he knows he IS that entire franchise right now. Probably doesn't want to lock in for 8 years, either.
