I dunno. He sounded legitimately amped. I think he's a for real fanboy.

I don't think I've seen a video of Jimmy Fallon's show where he didn't seem amped about whatever was happening at the time, to the point it's annoying as shit.

Fallon always plays that amped up tude' its what he is- but he does have a special love for video games and Nintendo - it was hilarious when he was like "Okay, give it to me, stop, give it to me...let me play...stop showing it and give it to me."

Unless that thing is the only switch along with 1 or 2 other POC devices- it looks basically ready to go.. March is really an odd time to launch a system being only a few months after Christmas big sales time. That along with the NES classic still not being in common stock a few weeks out makes me think Nintendo has really lost its inroads with the production company's in order to produce quickly massive amounts of units. They also like to stay almost all 100% japan in their manufacturing as best they can - that's not all sourced there, but they always try to use "local" first its a pride thing... maybe that is causing some issues with their ability to produce products quickly and in adequate numbers.

I believe Regie said they didn't want to launch the console without a solid amount of games, so the delayed launch might not be a production/hardware issue, but just making sure the games are done, especially Zelda which is probably going to be the big console seller.

yeah zelda is delayed to june, who knows what the system is gonna launch with but we'll find out jan 12th along with price and specs

fallon definitely knew his switch shit, like knowing a kickstand was there and stuff. demo seemed a bit staged, like reggie had to get the character to the right spot before he could hand it off because it really wasn't projecting to the big screen

Another game leak today, switch exclusive indie game. Sounds fucking autistic retarded though

In Seasons of Heaven that is exactly what a small group of people who find themselves - survivors of the greatest purge ever known - will ultimately come to realize. In their struggles to survive on a stripped and barren earth, they will learn that humans across the world literally died as a result of their own careless actions. Centuries of lying waste to the very land that sustained them was what would kill them in the end. The animals would be killed and eaten into extinction. The water needed to sustain all life would be polluted until it was undrinkable, and the air would be filled with waste that would suffocate the oxygen that was vital to their survival and the survival of everything else on earth. As the survivors learn to survive in a whole new world they will have to remember that the very things that gave their fellow humans a sense of superiority and even omnipotence were what had killed them in the end. Seasons of Heaven will take you from deep inside of a mystical forest at the beginning of time all the way through to the twenty-first century and the fall of civilization. It will take you on a journey with Yann, a young boy with Asperger’s syndrome and his faithful companion, Ani, a French bulldog who Yann is able to communicate with through telepathy. As you follow along on their journey you’ll have the opportunity to meet the rest of the major players and bear witness to the enlightenment of some and the demise of others. This story will allow you to experience the awe of discovering the most beautiful, magical place that ever existed while at the same time staying only one step ahead of the dark and vile underbelly of the human race.

It looks nice at least, even though the MC is literally autistic.

Nintendo Switch CPU and GPU clock speeds revealed

DF said:
Clock-speeds are a crucial piece of information required to get some idea of Switch's capabilities beyond the physical make-up of the Tegra processor. As many have speculated, the new Nintendo hardware does indeed feature two performance configurations - and the console is categorically not as capable in mobile form, compared to its prowess when docked and attached to an HDTV. And we can confirm that there is no second GPU or additional hardware in the dock itself regardless of the intriguing patents that Nintendo has filed suggesting that there might be. With battery life and power throughput no longer an issue, the docked Switch simply allows the GPU to run much faster. And to put it simply, there is a night and day difference here.

Where Switch remains consistent is in CPU power - the cores run at 1020MHz regardless of whether the machine is docked or undocked. This ensures that running game logic won't be compromised while gaming on the go: the game simulation itself will remain entirely consistent. The machine's embedded memory controller runs at 1600MHz while docked (on par with a standard Tegra X1), but the default power mode undocked sees this drop to 1331MHz. However, developers can opt to retain full memory bandwidth in their titles should they choose to do so.

As things stand, CPU clocks are halved compared to the standard Tegra X1, but it's the GPU aspect of the equation that will prove more controversial. Even while docked, Switch doesn't run at Tegra X1's full potential. Clock-speeds are locked here at 768MHz, considerably lower than the 1GHz found in Shield Android TV, but the big surprise from our perspective was the extent to which Nintendo has down-clocked the GPU to hit its thermal and battery life targets. That's not a typo: it really is 307.2MHz - meaning that in portable mode, Switch runs at exactly 40 per cent of the clock-speed of the fully docked device. And yes, the table below does indeed confirm that developers can choose to hobble Switch performance when plugged in to match the handheld profile should they so choose.

307mhz in portable mode, 256 shader cores with 2 FP32 modules means around 157 gflops performance in portable mode, double that in docked IF the devs choose (many won't). By comparison a Wii U is 176 gflops, a 3DS is 2.9 gflops, and a Xbox One is 1300 gflops, a ps4 is 1840 gflops, and a ps4 pro is around 4200 gflops.

lol at everyone who thought nintendo was making a capable machine, while the NX will be faster than a wii u when docked (but not really by THAT much) its going to be slower than a wii u in portable mode. Still 50x faster than a 3ds so I guess thats progress, and a 157 gflops portable machine is quite nice. A vita runs around 6 gflops I believe, but the new Apple/Samsung phones are all 300+ and should be 600+ for next years models.

gonna make it tough for third party ports though, sure you could downgrade your games visuals but going from baseline 1 tflops to 0.3 or 0.5 is not that easy.

Keep in mind that the built-in screen is only 720p, so it needs to push less than half the pixels of a 1080p HDTV while in portable mode.

I don't even know why they are crippling it in docked mode.

To continue making a profit on the hardware by using outdated components. Nintendo is backwards as hell. Main reasoning I feel is they know they have a severe lack of 3rd party support so loss leading the hardware to build an install base won't be made up by license fees on the software sales.

Only game I would want to play is the new Zelda, and that's coming out on the Wii U as well so I do not care what so ever about picking one of these up now.

Nah, that's not even that. They are fucking using the Tegra X1 that is on the Shield TV, but somehow are downclocking it even while docked.

The Tegra X1 is a cheap part yes, but god damn it why are you even downclocking it instead of running it at stock frequencies?

Battery life most likely.

Does anyone buy Nintendo consoles for anything besides 1st party titles? I know I don't. As long as the new Zelda and Mario titles are appealing, it'll probably be enough for me to buy one... especially since I skipped the Wii U.

Well, yeah, the idea of playing the whole slate of modern third party games would have been a minor selling point. The debut video included a few of them.
