It's not wall voltage, it's voltage at the chip. That is tightly regulated by the motherboard and power supply and they're detecting tiny changes from voltage bleed into testing tools.

2 days to switch launch. console apparently bricks if you try to explore the boot loader, a couple of hackers bricked their console the second they attached volt meters and stuff to chips so it may indeed be a nintendo console that takes years (if ever) to jailbreak.
already seeing performance is not gonna be anywhere close to ps5 much less a decent PC, but i don't think thats gonna be a surprise to anyone except nintendo-cultists. 40 fps on cyberpunk docked is weird since afaik the switch 2 wont do VRR in docked (one big reason to do 40 fps, syncs nicely with 120hz OLED panel)

My Walmart Preorder actual charge hit today.
Was at BestBuy and Target for non-switch related stuff but wondered around, each had big spaces ready for all the switch 2 stuff, was kinda funny bc it seemed bare with many shelves "bare"

They're combating known exploits from the switch 1. When they sense a voltage variance across the spirom they're probably wiping it would be my guess. A consumer or even a repair tech would have no reason to probe that.

I'm considering waiting in line for it tomorrow just for the fun of it (last time I waited in line for a console was the Wii in 2006 or so and that was a fun time).
The actual system, however, doesn't particularly excite me. It's basically waiting in line for the latest Mario Kart, when it comes down to it.
I'll probably do the line just for the social aspects of it, but yeah, not sure how "worth it" it is. Especially if I end up not getting one because Best Buy didn't get anywhere near as many as they predicted, or something. They're saying 80-100 per store in extra ones (i.e. above the pre-order counts).

My daughter and I went to a smaller Game Stop here in town and got preorders for two Switch 2s w/ Mario Cart World today. Traded in my Xbox One and PS4 Pro and got 150 bucks for them, which was awesome and got them off my workbench. Will go back tonight at 11PM to get them. Was a super easy and awesome experience.

At a fairly heavy-traffic Best Buy and there are only about 30 people in line 5 hours before the midnight release. Supposedly they have about 120 systems available (not sure if that's extra, or includes preorders). Good chance they won't even sell out on night 1.
Funny thing is, they keep asking people what game they're playing first and everyone's like "Mario Kart...there isn't really anything else". Yeah, Mario Kart and a bunch of things we already played/bought years ago that they're trying to sell to us again. "Here's Elden Ring that's halfway between the PS4 and 5 versions!"

They were asking me what other games I wanted to buy, and the only thing that I could think of, "The Duskbloods?" which isn't a launch title. There isn't much that I recognized as non-specialized Nintendo stuff, everything else is pre-order. Even something I would have thought would have been a definite launch title, Super Mario Party Jamboree, isn't coming out until July 24th. Seems weird that all of the "Big" titles are previously released PC titles, smaller Nintendo things and Mario Kart World.

Yet it was a WiiU game lol. I played it on my haxxor wiiu full through was years till i got it for switch.
A good Metroid and Konami get off ur butt gummy castlevania is what i seek outside of standard nintendo
