Btw, there is apparently a bug I fell victim too. I had got a ship /w the upgraded hyperdrive, but then when I went to do the fuel the hyperdrive quest, it wasn't recognizing it. Apparently there is some dumb bug where it can't tell you are fueling a hyperdrive if you have an upgraded one, so you either have to scrap the upgraded one or get a ship w/o one.

I had a similar bug where my hyperdrive was full but the galactic map said it was empty. I had to get in a nasty space battle, causing my hyperdrive to break and had repair it to warp to the next system.

talking to NPCs and asking for directions will can help (it adds a marker on your hud even if the location is off planet.), usually I park on top of a mountain and use the F key too look for points of interest, then tag them with E. Also using signal boosters with navigational data chips can locate these as well.... I believe.

Ya, nav data /w signal booster can help you find the most valuable spots. Secured channel are the research facilities that give new recipes, distress beacon are the crashed freighters or crashed ships usually. Crashed freighters can be gold mines...I did one recently and it gave me mats that sell for 1mil a pop (high explosives or w/e)

I have more luck with the positron ejector as a weapon than anything but probably no shock since the scatter weapon on the multitool works best for me too.
As for cash, get up a few ranks in the space station missions and take ones from the station/capitol ship. I get endless items worth 200,000-millions per hour.
I'm now pretty much on faction and sight seeing mode now. Once I get the last few trillion base items, I'll probably build something insane before venturing off to build the death star and end the universe again.

Couldn't figure out why anyone would buy suit upgrades when I was able to run around to dozens per planet without much effort. Same with Nav stuff. Turns out they were supposed to be used up per use. I'm assuming most if not all had that bug and it was patched because they use up now. Also the game got an icon where it was a windows folder looking thing before on the task bar. Life would have been so much more miserable with a crappy suit/multi tool for sure.
Now if I can figure out if even possible how to control waypoints on planets so shit doesn't appear forever even after I visit I'll be good with the game.

The really nice thing about this game for me is you can do stuff in 20 minutes, or you can stop for a month and pick back up like you didn't skip a day. I used to think the travel times were horrendous but with space station teleports, hyperdrives, pulse drives to get around planets quicker and the ability to call your ship anyone, it really isn't unreasonable at all.

Played for the first time on Sunday. Made a hardcore character right off the bat. Game spawned me in apparently a radioactive wasteland and I died inside of 3 minutes after shields and whatever failed. Second character spawned in decent weather and low radiation. Found my ship, and while trying to figure out how to repair it I died due to surprise acid rain. Third character I actually have made it into space with! I am actually enjoying this more than I thought I would.

I found a segment at ~ 20 hours that I thought, ok this was ok but it is repetitive and not much going on but then I kept discovering new things and some cool features I liked from other games. Now 72 hours in since the 25th and having a blast.
I just left a planet that was solid metal, ground, flora, minerals. Everything was made out of metallic metal and it was amazing. Also to those worried aboput money. Get a multi tool with as many slots as you can and fill it with scanner modules from stations that have +5000-8000% reward. Go to new planets and scan everything. Millions per planet just scanning shit.
You'll be Trump in no time, or if you prefer you can give it all to the poor like every other good rich socialist.

Ya I have been growing my fleet. Now I am just grinding units and seeking out specialty frigates as they run about 8-10 million a pop but have ~10 in all 4 stats so I can send them out in missions with the others. I've also been freighter hunting. So the size of them doesn't matter in storage and storage doesn't matter much anyways since you can build storage. What I have noticed though is some have no defenses, some have a ton, some are even reinforced heavily. So I am seeking out a cool looking one, with tons of turrets to call home for good. Still working on the internal stations and missions with the hired dudes.
I REALLY wish we could build blueprint and signal stuff on them but at least I have a large refinery now.
I bought the worst frigate in the world a bit ago but only because it had wood paneling. Got to respect that.

Right now I am building a new Base in a new system and I called my freighter over. This moon I found was too good to pass up. I am doing the missions along with said basebuilding. So far I have made a construction officer and science officer and am on that quest path now, while I really need to add more to my freighter squad. I have my main freighter and recruited one, sent that one on a lone mission and he got shot to shit so he is now injured waiting for me to repair him haha
I definitely could use more units, but at the same time I am really enjoying the base building quests. I get sent all over and also get valuable blue prints I need.
I also played a little rocket league and lost a few competitive matches with an idiot random TM, so, me being pissed, I logged back in to No Man Sky, joined a random game, and blew some poor bastard to bits while they were mining copper with my plasma grenade just because. I felt bad for a second until I realized he can just go back to get his stuff
