I never paid attention to it? Kind of annoying listening to everything be "dark souls" when its described. Is it online with other people? or is it like single player?

Single player for now. As they said in the vid, their Co-op patch will be coming after the Breach update, so several months from now. Combat is very very much "Your turn, my turn" type souls-like.

I play ARPG's solo mostly anyways, but it is still nice when there is that online "option." I guess its good that its not a GAAS, though.

If you haven't gotten the Early Access yet, hold off until after the Breach update since they are going to reset character progression for that patch.

If you know you are going to play it later you might want to get it on sale now from the spring steam sale.

Picked up for the spring sale. Now I just need to remember to start playing it April 30th for the Breach update.

Apparently they didn't test the ship prologue at all because it's no longer possible to make the very first sprint-jump that you come across. Not a big deal if you've played the game before since that part's essentially useless anyway, but you didn't used to be able to skip the prologue until you completed it once so that could be a problem for new buyers.

I don't remember the first zone difficulty being such a ball-buster either. At least you can still repair for free, but I've yet to find a weapon type that allows me to win fights without taking damage and I've ended up resorting to LB+RB cheese to kill shit by just yeeting them off a cliff. Might as well I guess, since you're still all but required to put early level-ups into stamina which means there's no way to equip decent armor without being in the 'heavy' weight class.

Bow getting massively nerfed (all shots use focus now) is a bummer too.

I just did the prologue without any problems other than being beat down a couple times before giving up on trying to parry~

Weird. There's people on reddit posting about it too. I tried taking off all gear, using m/k instead of controller, changing the spot I jumped from, etc. and nothing worked. Ended up just skipping it anyway since there's no reason for doing the prologue, and none of the jumps in the first real zone were a problem at all.

Very weird choice to make the game difficult and impossible to control with kbm at the same time. That the dev company is full on DEI and full of homos and trannies is no shock.

Refunded after 20 minutes.

Some day, game companies will start hiring people who actually play games instead of LARPing as game devs.

What's this nonsense? Games urinalists and the rainbow mafia have been attacking Moon Studios for a long time now because the CEO is very outspoken against DEI shit (and also recently said some things in support of Elon Musk and Trump).

I think he misread my older post on the matter. maybe read the accusation/headlines, and not the followup.

This is getting trashed on Steam reviews, but not for political/social reasons. Actual game-play appears to be frustrating or performs poorly. This one will need some more time in the dev bin before giving it a try.

Been about a year since I played. I played for about 1 hour last night, the controls felt a bit off from what I remembered. Just not as tight/responsive. I will mess around with it a bit, but won't go balls deep like last time, at least not until multi player.

Also, Fucker Fucker isn't our best or brightest.

Yeah, the game is just not fun at all right now. Every single thing about the combat system and enemy design is terrible. Trash enemies do ridiculous combos that you can't stagger them out of, and the ranged ones are even worse with aimbot like tracking on arrows, molotovs, etc. On the player's end, stamina is still retarded and even if you dump every stat point into it early on you will be unable to even complete a full combo (not that the enemies will allow this) after all the dodging and blocking you have to do to get any opening to attack. None of the weapons are much fun to use anyway.

My experience getting back to town on my new character: I ended up wearing the heaviest armor I could find, just so I could gain access to the LB+RB shoulder slam. Knocking enemies on their asses (or better yet, off a cliff) with that was literally the only way I could win any fights without trading a big chunk of my hp. For weapons, every single one was shit compared to just leaving the slot empty and punching them all to death. Even the actual fist "weapon" you equip was worse than just going barehanded because the second attack of the combo messes everything up. Obviously that's not a sustainable strategy though, since you need scaling and upgrades to continue on past the newbie areas. Killed the boss (which used to be a bitch but this time it was easier than the trash I waded through to get there this time), got back to town, and basically said I have had enough of this and I'm hanging up again for another year.

The boss used to drop a really nice weapon that could carry you through the next several hours at least. No more though. Maybe it's a rare drop now, but he dropped basically nothing useful when I killed it, and I certainly didn't feel like rerolling realms just to try to farm whatever it does drop at some small %. Also the other reason I hung it up is because my knockdown strategy went right out the window with the first enemies I ran into off of the linear path to the boss. Try to hit them with a shoulder charge and they will instantly dodge away 99% of the time.

Oh and the final straw was reading that they are still clinging to the idea that real world timers that take hours to tick down are a good idea in a single player game.

Edit: I almost forgot this one. Purple-rarity items still have massive drawbacks to "balance" the mediocre positives that they have compared to a blue item. I had 3-4 of them drop while getting back to town and not a single one was even remotely worth using due to the negative stat.

I think this guy even replied to the "is this woke?" Discussion troll thread

*edit: "this guy" being the lead dev.

I just played this for the first time. Made it to the second save point and called it due to having shit to do.

There isn't a jump button. You don't time shit. You just hold down A and run forward and it jumps for you. Did all of the tutorial just fine. Combat seems fine, although I don't fully understand this magic staff thing just yet. Might go back to the mace.
