I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay scalper prices. My new monitor is screaming for a new card at 5120x1440. 1080ti is...OK. But I've gotten so used to higher frames, that 60-70 just doesn't feel right any longer.

I dont know what current 3080 scalper prices are, assuming thats what youre going for, but last I checked they were nearing what a 3090FE was selling for at retail. And the 3090 FE is pretty easy to get when Best Buy does a drop, they usually last for at least an hour.

If you do, I'd be interested in that 1080 if you havn't mined on it, would be a lil better than the others guys 1070 i'm gunning for.

Got like 300 bucks or something at the 3080 release for my 1070. Not sure how the price went from then to now though.

All cards 1000 series and up still resell quite high simply due to availability of the 2000 and 3000 series being shit.

Looking at steam avg specs, its still 1060 and 1080p being most common. and 1070 is still a hell of a 1080p card.

what's your issue with mining cards? Those are actually the better deal, they're not run at full power because the extra power requirement isn't worth the extra output, they were under constant, average stress, were never overclocked and never ran at max heat.

Hmmm. I never saw it that way. My thought is that have been used non stop since purchase.

Well, my 3090 that wasn't going to arrive until mid March has already shipped and should arrive by Feb 8th. Once I get it and make sure it works properly, Ill have an EVGA 1080 and an EVGA 1070 that I dont really have a use for anymore and can sell to any forum bros that may be on the lookout for a card.

It would, saves me over a 3060TI if I could find it retail for $400 which seems to be similiar on userbenchmark to the 1080ti as far as upgrading over my dead 1070.

Still way less annoying since removing the fans on a GFX is both a pain in the ass and stressful as fuck when the card's worth 1k+ but quite annoying. I just don't see the point of only watercooling the CPU like so many PCs do, the GFX fan is a large part of the noise made when running under load while gaming, they're basically all fucking trash. On top of that if anything, the GPU is what needs cooling, not the CPU. Might not be as much of an issue on the 30xx series but the CPU was never much of a problem in temperatures in my experience before.

EVGA Hybrid cards are exactly this. AIO GFX cards. Not sure if others do it, but they are pretty sweet.
