Ive bought most of the $1999-2199 prebuilts on BB - the omens are the best since they have 5800x and 3080 - However the ROG is 2nd since it comes with a 3080 TUF - they all suck for cooling but you get a good cpu, decent mobo, and 3080. Id just toss the case in ROG situation which is what i did for a friends PC and the omen id add fans bc i still think the case looks appealing.

Depends on where you source the GPU - ALLLLLLLLLLLLL AMD AIB GPUs are inflated - All Zotac GPUs are inflated - However thats kind of where it stops - EVGA prices are normal, FEs normal, ASUS kinda gets dumb especially Strix models - GPU prices are generally high now yes but not inflated.

Pcpartpicker - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qtTp7X - this is cost of my current system minus ram and ssd's without factoring in all the water cooling parts. The LDU as a GPU was costly but im quite ok with it since i havent hit 40c on it yet. It runs must lower temp wise than the 3090 FE i had on the EKWB SE block. Not to mention i got it free since someone bought it just to get my 3090 in the SE block. So it depends how you see it, $5400 may seem like a lot which it is, but when would you need to upgrade again? 8k gaming is so far away even tmsc hitting 1-2nm in 4-6 years wont make that a reality. However i upgrade yearly if not a couple times a year mainly bc i build as a hobby and resell my systems at cost just to build something else. Yeah i did "resell" cards at one point but that was back when 200 over cost was "omfg you should die scalper!" was considered alot and bestbuy bypass wasnt a thing - those days are long gone now.

the ti lineup is wildly overinflated, like 20% power boost but 60-80%+ price boost over the 3080 lineup. Thats just MSRP, then you have to add reseller markup on top of that since bots get most of the cards.

I'd guess the 4xxx lineup when it releases next year has a bigger price jump as well, which is gonna suck. We probably won't see a great price/power ratio for a decade.

3070 and 3080 is the best spot really, 3080Ti FE is also the only Ti to consider due to it being the lowest price and it being a 3090 with less Ram.

Perhaps inflated wasn't the right word. Prices are not what we are used to and it feels wrong to pay that price because of, in part, bitcoin. Even if that's not going away, still a hard pill to swallow.

Nvidia and AMD got a taste of fat profits. I doubt we will see sane price for normal products ever again.

I agree with this - 2020-2022 will be crazy - 2022 is going to be next level because now everyone knows how to rush the market and scalp better than ever - AMD 6000 series cpu will be scalped hard and next gen GPUs will be ebay exclusives if they dont allow preorders or in store pick up

So what would be a reasonable cost to get one of these things from Facebook marketplace or eBay etc? Been trying to snag a 3080 ti for awhile now, and it just seems the instant they release, scalpers get them all.

Same fucking story with almost every item on my bucket list this year. The items exist, but only if you are willing to pay damn near double msrp.

I’m flipping 3080 ti’s at $1800 a pop. Pretty generous considering you can get 1900$ for them. You can probably find 1600-1700$ tho.

I’d suggest putting this thread on watch list and wait for posts when people talk about Best Buy drops. Each store gets a certain amount so chances are better to get one.

If you would have posted this two days ago you could have had my EVGA bread line one, I didn’t buy it when they notified me :( There may be other bread liners in this thread that don’t plan on buying theirs. The queue was 11 months, most people got something in that time but they’re still in the queue.

Also, felt like some of yall made a pretty good case for skipping the tis in favor of a plain 3080 bang for buck. Not sure how much FE figures into that arithmatic since Ive stopped posting attention other than for if a BB drop finally happens on a day off.

I think 3080 FE is the best card for the dollar out there. The problem is still finding that exact one though. It’s still just a “get what you can” situation, almost a fucking year later. That’s how I ended up with a 3070 when I was originally going for a 3080. It’s just what I could get for msrp. Fuck paying a scalper.

Speaking of fucking scalpers, T Tide27 maybe Xexx Xexx will cut you a decent deal, and would be safer in terms of not getting scammed. Shipping wouldn’t be bad, he’s one state up.

3080ti FE is only sold in store at best buy, its been basically 1 drop every 3 months or so. I wouldn't expect another one for a while, and virtually all of them require you to wait in line for 8-15 hours (overnight) in store to get one. 3080ti FE is $1200+tax MSRP

3080ti AIBs (third party) is pricier but easier to get, online or at microcenter. evga, aorus, etc.

personally i'd say just get the 3090 instead, its just a little more and far, far easier to get. when best buy had its last in person drop people were strolling up at open and buying 3090 AIBs at some stores. Since its $1800-2000.

also newegg product shuffle -- Popular Product Drawing Event | Newegg.com - does 3090 bundles frequently, pop in on those. I've "won" that multiple times but passed, 3090s seem far less popular in the reseller crowd.

your chance at getting one on amazon are nearly zero, bots eat up that almost instantly. Best chances are newegg product shuffle, evga queues (you are gonna be WAY in the back of the line), microcenter, or best buy in person.

microcenter now does random time drops, i know people who just strolled in and picked up a 3090 card. Its just whenever it shows up at their store, they put it out for sale. These guys drive by daily once they learn what time shipments come in.

if you just wanna buy one card i'd say putting in a few hours of effort makes it pretty easy, and then you just have to wait 3-6 weeks for the right opportunity. 3080FE is nearly impossible, 3080ti and 3090 are far easier especially AIB versions.
