Some AI company has gotten wafer on wafer tech to work at tsmc. That would be big for gpus as it enables like 100 + TB per second mem speeds. Maybe nvidia will steal it?

one of those pc builders that sponsors streamers shut down, it all started a week ago when they ran a giveaway of a PC on their twitch stream, the winner turned out to be a tiny streamer and the CEO said she didn't have enough followers to qualify to win. it turned into a huge shit storm, turned out the company was building shit PCs and now a week later they fired everyone and are shutting down lol

Judging by the prices they were charging for the streamer-branded PCs this was only inevitable lol.

Having buyers remorse on this 3080ti? I see prices falling on cards. I paid 1800 for this card, and I'm wondering if I should return it and wait for even lower prices. Worth the hustle? Thoughts FOHbroski's?

the prices won't drop, just it won't be as "valuable" (reseller tax) as a month ago.

only reason to really return would be if you think you can snag a 3090ti (doubtful) but then you get into the same issue in six months you'll want a 4080, which will be likely 30-50% more powerful than a 3080ti for about the same price.

but yeah $1500 3080s are pretty easy to snag now, they show up DAILY in stock at best buy buy in store, in person only and you need monitors to know when they drop and be the first to the store. I'd assume the same at Microcenter/etc. i didn't check but the ones at evga were online for hours and hours if not days. the resellers in the discords i am in don't even bother buying them, they only want the 3080FE/3090FE.

$1800 for 3080Ti is bad - EVGA 3080Ti was $1500 or so months ago - also $1800 for a card that has less raw horsepower than a Red Devil 6900XT is just bad - Unless youre clicking all those RT and DLSS boxes in your games id return it.

Man I'd have rode out the 6800 while waiting on the Nvidia 4xxx series - My 6800xt basically eats everything I throw at it and I suspect the delta between current and next gen cards will be pretty steep. You could say they'll be impossible to get, but I'm rolling the dice.

Yeah, my main issue was the dips at 5120x1440 on the RX 6800. I'm not one to wait a year for a potential replacement that I probably won't get my hands on.

Xexx Xexx yeah, going to snag an EVGA if I see it at that price. Have 30 days to return this to Microcenter. I saw Mist Mist 's post too late.

Never heard of Red Devil, so with 1500+ bucks being spent, I rather stick with the brands I know.

dang you aren't kidding the red devil 6800XTs are $1400, in stock at amazon and newegg

and seem pretty much equivalent to 3080ti's, a bit ahead in some games but a bit slower in others. I just hate AMD's GPU software, but i guess nvidia really isn't any better

most perf sites though compared to stock 3080ti FE which i think are a bit slower than the $1800 evga FTWs or TUFs

I wouldnt worry about that stuff in this day and age. Prices are going to fluctuate on such goods wildly over months so if you sit and worry about "I could have saved 15%!" youre gonna be doing a lot of worrying in the days to come.

You just need to be at peace at the time of purchase. If it fit your budget then dont worry about it.

Brahma Brahma i was in your same situation. I had the fastest 6900XT AsRock card and between the unfamiliar Radeon software and no dlss or RT I wasn’t happy. Picked up a 3080ti evga and love it.

The DLSS straight up gives me 240 FPS @5120x1440! The RX 6800 was giving me sub 200 frames on most games. The DLSS alone is worth it's weight in FPS's.

Damn, 6800XT is about the best "bang for your buck" card you can get as long as you don't care about RT gimmics. I'm tempted to upgrade my 6700XT, but I really don't want to hassle with trying to sell it.

I gotta stop clicking on this thread before I buy a video card I most definitely don't need. My 2080 is just fine damnit
