It is slightly shady but let's see what the performance looks like. If the memory bandwidth isn't a bottleneck it shouldn't matter.

yeah the 4080 12GB is shady as shit but it still will outperform everything but a 3090ti at 4k and less.
you run at a crazy rez though brahma so a 4090 really is the only option for you, i don't think a 4080, either model, is great. or just wait for the inevitable TI, supers, or whatever of the 4080 that is better $/price. 4090 is a scam but since its the only scam in town all of us are drooling over it
the 4080, either version, is basically for those of us who are still running 10xxs or 20xx's but you have to recognize something better will be out in 6-8 months, ignoring completely AMD which will probably be better in just a month or two.
Except I really want to fuck around with RTX and think DLSS 3.0 could be neat for "free" FPS boosts and only the 40xx line can do that
its also very game specific too you pretty much have to love RTX to want 40xx

Honestly at this point as long as you haven’t skipped too many gens upgrading you can buy a 4090 and not upgrade anything else for some huge gains.
I do however want an asus board this time around for the gpu release button. These cards are too god damn big to not have this button on every mobo now.

The hydro copper block was never as good as say a ek gpu block, but it was not that much worse.. The main advantage was the hydro copper came pre installed with a warranty.
