His lawsuit over Medieval Spawn (his creation) is lowkey hilarious. His deposition is stuffed with very subtle barbs and jabs against Todd McFarlane. Todd hired a bunch of named writers for a project and then wanted to stiff Neil when he further adapted Neil's contribution.

Neil won that case.

That was in 2002. Neil has, uh, some serious stuff that got his career nuked since then. That's why they axed Sandman after 2 seasons, and he was too toxic for Amazon Prime to keep milking Good Omens.

He created Angela, which was the real stickler for that case. Particularly since he wanted to port her over to the Marvel comic universe. Eventually he did and she joined the GotG I think? I dunno, I loved Angela in Spawn, but no idea if she was worth a shit in Marvel (although I own a 9.8 graded of her first appearance there). I was hopeful she'd show up in a movie some day, alongside Beta Ray Bill (I also have a 9.8 of Thor 337) so both of their first appearances would skyrocket, but she'd likely be black now, so maybe I won in the end.
