Almost made it back into gold, was within 9 points. Then in the last game, we were leading 1-0 in Oasis when someone disconnected. I assume it was a disconnect and not a leaver, since we were ahead and there was no drama going on.

There has been a ton(I feel higher than usual) disconnect or leavers since season 5 started. I guess it's been pretty even between my team and other team...so overall it's not having a huge impact on SR. Just not fun when it happens, on either team.

Lots of trolling too, tons of absolutely awful team composition...again I feel more than usual.

I was watching Seagull's stream, and even at his rank they are having issues with this...pretty bad in his case though as it seems trolls watch his stream and queue up when he is queuing to get into his matches. He had to cancel his queue because of it(People were telling him that trolls were queuing, guess the trolls were streaming or something).

I still enjoy the game though, it's my go to game these days when I have nothing else to play.

Probably going to play a lot this weekend to take advantage of the double XP weekend, I still need tons of stuff from this event loot boxes. Only have like 3-4 Skins, and 3-4 dance emotes.

It's surprising he would have stream sniper problems because he's at the highest tier in the game.

LOL, Dafran got banned From Overwatch contenders league and competitive mode. He's also suspended by Selfless.

Suspension is for trolling and throwing matches...and putting anime porn or something during his Overwatch stream.

There can't be a precedent until you set one. Coming down hard like this sends a few messages:

1) Trolling/throwing comp games is not accepted
2) Trying to RECRUIT people to do the same is not accepted
3) Damaging the brand (actions deemed to not legitimize their pro sports scene, ie streaming hentai games while playing OW, fucking over your team's reputation) is not accepted
4) Shows the gaming population that they will hold people who represent the Overwatch brand to the same punishments that the general population will be subject to (ie, no lords vs. serfs division in terms of punishment).

Right and it should mostly be up to the org for how to enforce that. I get Blizzard is now in charge of OWL and needs to be heavy handed in maintaining the brand but really he was throwing comp games. Ban him from comp. If Selfless feels his actions should be further punished then that is up to Selfless. We don't really know the order of operations here if Blizzard told Selfless Dafran would be suspended THEN he was benched or the other way around. If Selfless told Blizzard Dafran is out for S0/S1 then the punishment, I feel, is more reasonable.

Reading Selfless' response it sounds like Blizzard banned Dafran and then Selfless just went along with it without a fight because they came to similar conclusions. Would Dafran be banned from Selfless S0/S1 if Blizz didn't? I doubt it. He's too good a player.

I don't understand this game any more. I've lost about 10 matches straight due to disconnects, derankers, or just plain bizzare toxic behavior. I was just in a match where we were up 2-0 and about to win the third round when someone asked politely if our genji could help him focus the enemy mercy. Genji screamed "IF YOU THINK I'M BAD WE DESERVE TO LOSE!" and suicided for the rest of the match, which we then lost. Wtf...

I hope they have server-side recordings of text logs and basic match actions, because this kind of shit is absolutely destroying my experience. I don't mind losing because we're outplayed, but in the last few days I've had maybe 2-3 "normal" matches out of 15 or 20 with the rest ruined by bullshit on one team or the other.

I stopped playing last season after having 4 leavers in a row. I don't really have any fun even winning either it's just toxic retardation whether you're winning or losing any rank past 3k. I'm interested in seeing what they're trying to fix though because the only way I'm coming back is if I main junkrat 24/7 and I know for a fact I'll be reported for griefing, so am I going to get banned for playing what I want?

It's a good FPS game to casually play, even if you suck at FPS it's really friendly and easy to get into. When/if you start playing competitive mode (which you don't have to at all if you don't want), you'll have to start learning team compositions and the current meta of the game. Which is easy enough to do, but really casual/arcade mode are fun enough that you never really have to bother doing that.

Competitive mode, like pvp anywhere, is more about your willingness to absorb people's ugly personalities than anything else.

Honestly I find the game the most fun in a casual setting. Like mystery heroes I can play for hours. Comp I can play maybe 3 games until I'm done.

Same. Even Quick Play is rough with friends because I want to win and I generally will do what it takes to make a coherent team but then you have the "I'M ONLY PLAYING SOMBRA TONIGHT, OKAY?" people that just tank you. Mystery Heroes is blissful because if you lose, just blame RNG.
