Eq2 pvp > all other pvp. It's really a shame the game never blew up.Best PvP was early eq2 PvP where the PvP was competition for PVE encounters / raids / dungeons etc and thus lewts.
It seems thats what they are thinking and its fun as shit.
If its a group based game, you don't have to balance PvP for 1v1, its group vs group, which is natively balanced already
Pantheon seems good even if I am triggered by the fact they haven't released mastery points. Between that and seemingly threadbare itemization early game I find myself not playing so much.

I really loved Huttball in Star Wars. That was the only pvp I have ever really enjoyed. As long as your PVP doesnt mess up my PVE, I dont care what they do.

That's why it should be on a separate server and no development wasted on battlegrounds or arenas. Amen.
Making the content pvpers fight over better IS a way of making the pvp experience better.
