To be fair they already did a money grab and I got played so shame on me, but I won’t get fooled again. They had some decent/fun content for the first 20 levels before you realize the game is 80% unfinished and their progress is entirely hamstrung by a lead dev with debilitating amounts of adhd.
I’m hoping I’m wrong, but nothing I saw indicates I will be, unless something massive changes in the past 6 months or so since I stopped playing this game.

Yup. Joppa needs to be put on a leash to just focus on getting the 1.0 done. But he'll let the project die before that ever happens, which is why the game is probably never going to happen. Early Alpha was ok, but over a year later with fuck all to show for it? Not shocked.
I would love to be wrong, but not seeing anything to indicate they are going to finish what they started.

It's funny how much progress MNM has made over the same year as Pantheon. The Pantheon Cultists will be playing MNM mid-year this year, and they won't even remember this game anymore. This game is doomed.

MNM is doing what I hoped Pantheon would do, but I have to admit I really don't like old school EQ1 graphics. I never played EQ back in the day, Vanguard my was introduction to this type of MMO, so to me its taking a huge step back in graphical fidelity that's hard to shake off. Its the same reason I find it hard to play Pantheon after they cartooned the graphics.

This is what their audience should be truthful about. This is a Vanguard clone and not EQ. The ONLY EQ-like is Monsters and Memories(MNM). Pantheon is a Vanguard-like which doesn't have as many followers. This is what the Pantheon-Cult is trying to suppress.

They aren't trying to scam. They just lack any kind of willpower. It's people who cannot finish an rpg because they always hit new game and try to do it better. It's people who reload their strategy game EVERY time they lose a war or get a bad event. They need someone to tell them to sit the fuck down and finish their shit and actually hold them to projects, timetables, etc. Instead pantheon is 99% incomplete "ideas" and a decade of failure to deliver.

And Visionary Realms has been run the same as Sigil Games Online throughout these two games development cycles. The difference is Sigil had massive debt and overhead due to budget and was forced to close.
When you view the full history of Vanguard development (multiple scrapped versions, early alphas that were thrown out entirely, bait-and-switch graphics, sweeping core design changes randomly announced on the fly) the two companies have been operated almost identically.
It's so similar almost to the point it's an exact replica of Sigil Games. The early Vanguard pre-alpha graphic build was pretty much the graphic build Pantheon started off with before it went cartoon. Vanguard also eventually went with a more stylized blah cartoon low res texture build during beta.
It's verry peculiar how many similarities there are between the two studios, despite the difference in scale (AAA budget vs Indie crowdfunded).
I don't understand why Pantheon is called an EQ1 successor either when even the studio operations itself seem to be modeled after Sigil Games Online.

It does seem MnM is making a more grounded game with the people they have. Would be nice if some of these games succeed with a core player base. Pantheon ain't it though.
