Pantheon is a jobs program that keeps going at a glacial pace without executing. They will not finish the game for the same reason like 3% of players finish a typical paradox game - they keep starting shit over. They also cant keep the gravy train the same if they have a live product with the associated expectations. Staying in development lets them stay developers.
But going tits up like aoc? Not likely. That would require putting in serious financial liabilities that can come back to haunt you. That would mean a serious expense spreadsheet or a far more defined timetable not being met. When expenses are low, team size is modest, and plans are absurdly vague? As long as the money keeps coming in, no reason to stop, and as long as people keep following their dreams here, the money should keep coming in. If not already in. They may be sitting on a huge "full funding" they are just milking. Regardless... not going anywhere.
As for this forum, I dont think its ACTUALLY going anywhere, but Ive been here since 02. I know how foh life works. One day everythings fine, the next day LLR converts to Islam and starts banning. Unlikely, but still more likely than pantheon devs stop milking people for money at least.
