TIL Izo is not the entire world, but speaks for it.
Well, god knows he's not a doctor, right? Kidding, but really there is a bit of lost in translation, english is not my first. Would be cool if you posted more about your newly discovered kid in here. That is interesting. Unless you all want to debate how to grieve a tragic loss of a stranger some more. Which is a real downer imho :-(

He thinks he's clever quoting me in that other thread. Somehow he made this about him
Why are you not letting this go? I critized the thought porn 'can you imagine' (yes I can mofo, I see it every day) as well as the non-victim-circklejerking and turned it around to something constructive = go make a gofundme or post one if there isn't. But sure, it's funny, to me, that you think choosing religion is a grown up thought. I believe we have a whole thread with evidence to the contrary for the most part. Can we get back to the topic, please?

My brain works all fucked up, I imagine the worst case scenario a lot ever since having kids. The "wife gets in a car wreck and everyone dies" scenario has played out in my head before. You'd pretty much just rather you died with them, I imagine. I feel for the dude, hope they manage to at least save his wife and baby.

I don't know why you're mincing my words here or what you're not understanding. If an adult chooses to have faith so be it. Kids don't choose. That's what I meant. Unless you're going even deeper and criticizing the indoctrination of the young.

Consider it dropped

something like this happened to me i'd likely either

a: drink myself to death

b: live out my fantasy of becoming a vigilante killing pedos (or something like that) until I get caught

I agree with this 100%

I told my wife that and she said I should live. Um.. no.. that's an endgame scenario for me.

Yeah man. Losing a spouse, you can move past that. Losing a kid, that's rough, but you can move past that if you have other kids, you have to. Losing everyone all at once like that? That's just the end. What am I going to do, go back and work my fucking job? Mow the lawn and shit? Cut back on carbs? Motherfucker for what?

Yeah man. I've never connected with a human being in my entire life like I have with my wife and kids. My parents are there, I've got a brother and sister, but when it comes to my relationship with my kids it's completely night and day. There would be nothing to live for.

Planned our weekend about getting my 2 year old into a toddler bed, been in a crib since birth. It's tough because being autistic his language is a bit behind, but he's been making huge strides. Put him to bed last night, he went out like a light and came in our room at 630am. Had a lot of preconceived notions on how it'd go and he surprised me

That's fantastic! Let's hope this is a trend and your little dude is entirely ready for this, and your concern is for naught.

Night 2 was pretty good too. I know he'll regress probably, but then again he's had no sleep regressions like my first son did.

Nap time is another story. It's always been an issue for him,a nd the added freedom isn't helping him. He's just about at the age where he's probably done with naps though if he's anything like our first.

My daughter took to toddler and regular beds fine. She fights nap time but if I just leave her on her own she eventually falls asleep. If she doesn't then I make sure she goes to bed on time before she turns into an absolute monster. Hell hath no fury like my 3 year old girl when tired. She just stops talking and every response is just a scream or grunt like she's in a metal band. It's kind of funny hearing that stuff come from a cute little girl, but it gets old quick. The only words she'll say to me when she's overly tired are "Your jokes aren't funny daddy!"

My older son was the exact opposite. He never went down easy from crib to toddler bed. We had to break the habits over a week or two by sitting next to his bed less and less until eventually he would let us put him down and leave. His first night in the toddler bed he just tried to walk right off it into my arms and fell (I caught him).

Glad it works for you, Noodleface Noodleface
Upgraded the 3yo to a junior bed, larger pillow/besheets over new years. Sleeps through now, no 'mommy-I-want-to-sleep-with-you-waking-up-everybody' last 3 days. Finally. Hope it lasts too. Izo gets cranky if no sleep.

Hmm, wife and oldest kid almost got run over by a bike today. School is in a congested area, trafically, steep hill into center of city. Road works makes the crossing out of school a hazard. Fecking female biker going to fast almost rammed my kid, wife pushed her aside and wife took the hit herself. Kid got scrapes and a scare. Wife a sore shoulder. Biker tumbled down the hill. Didn't know about it til later, long shift. First time I've been scared for the wife/kids, really. Relative safe here. Or so I thought. Fuck. I'm sorry you guys, I see what you've been talking about above now. I repent and apologize for being abrasive. Assburgers.

As a guy who commuted on a bike for years, fuck bikers. I suffered more scares at the hands of other cyclists than drivers. You're legally a vehicle; act accordingly.

So I finally removed the side of my daughter's crib to make it more into a toddler bed. So now, instead of her lying there and playing with her toys for an hour before calling/crying, she immediately comes and wakes us up when she wakes up. Fuck.

Had to be done. She started climbing out.

I worked in Boston for awhile. Cyclists were worse than cab drivers

They had to do a fuckin sting where a cop waited around a corner and pulled over every single cyclist just blasting through lanes
