I’ve coached soccer and a season of basketball just because no one was volunteering. I don’t think I was good at it as I didn’t play those sports beyond playing in school. But in basketball there was one girl who had never dribbled a ball before and I gave her little drills to do during the week. You could tell she practiced each week and I made sure to tell her how noticeable it was and pointing out the things she was doing now that she couldn’t the following week. By the end of the season she was playing fine, able to make it down the court and make shots. At the end we went through all the kids and told them what the improved most on, she was the most improved all around and she was so proud when I announced it. Her parents loved me cause she was going to sign up for the next season and she was taking the drills I gave her so seriously. Seeing her confidence explode upwards during that season felt pretty good, I can see why people enjoy coaching kids, even with all the headaches from the other shithead kids and parents.

My daughter bought a house! Did it on her own, didn't even dip into the funds I've provided her. It's near where her job is, it's a real job, like a career job. She moved in a few days ago, and she just sent me pictures. She and a friend put up 12 sheets of drywall to finish up a bedroom space in the basement. It was already framed and ready to go, but she rented the Home Depot truck, got the drywall, and put it up. Using the tools in her tool box I gave her years ago. She's going to start mudding it tonight.

My daughter is making me mighty proud.

I'm not joking when I say that every single person who films themself while sitting in their car needs to be put in a mental insitution

I'm talking about old school cuckoos nest, lobotomies, shock therapy, the whole nine yards.

This shit is not normal, mentally healthy people who should be allowed out in society don't do this.

It’s like the modern version of talking to yourself. I do it once in a blue moon when I’m at home and something is weighing on my mind. Maybe it’s for reassurance or just getting something off your chest. The problem is, these retards are blasting it out to the entire world.

I mean its perfectly normal for your inner dialogue to occasionally spill out and become audible. It sounds to me like thats what you're describing, and it happens to me too.

What they're doing seems different. Deliberate. Performative. Theyre actually speaking to an invisible audience, complete with stupid overly emotional facial expressions and hand gestures.

Talking to yourself is rational; you're really there and engaged in the conversation. Talking to imaginary others, putting on a little show for them - thats legitimate crazy people behavior.

This place is pretty close to me in Texas 👻 SpookyHouse.com Texas' BEST Yard Haunt | Georgetown Tx -n. austin🎃

My 5 year old really really wanted to go so we did. She didn't even make it inside lol I was losing it. However these people must have spent >$200k on Halloween decorations. The flying saucer was 30 feet across and hoisted 20 feet in the air. 15 foot tall animatronic Cthulhu and tons of skeletal pirates. I was really impressed.

I do a lot of coaching, and I have a meeting with the parents before having the first practice. I tell them if they're living vicariously through their kids, if they're going to scream at officials, at me, at the other team, or generally be the kind of parent that doesn't act like this is your teenage kid playing a game, you will be banned from the arena. And yes, I can do that. And yes, I have. I had one kid whose parent just shouted the whole time, even during practice. Telling their son what to do. Undermining the coaches, criticizing the refs. I banned him. He about had a freaking heart attack when I told him, and it's good there were other people there, because he was going to hit me for sure. The other parents intervened. Once that parent stopped being at practice or games the kid did so much better. It was absolutely abuse what the parent was doing, but not the kind I can do anything about.

Parents can be serious jerks.

I get being there for matches etc. But for practice I just drop off my kid, see you when training is done, no chance of interfering with the coach
