New Archon buffs
In Path of Exile 2, the Archon buff is a new mechanic based on a Sorceress passive skill that provides a powerful, but temporary, damage boost. It allows a caster to convert all of their elemental damage to a specific type and receive an accompanying bonus after meeting a condition, such as spending a portion of your mana.
How the Archon buff works
The Archon buff encourages "payoff" or "build-up" playstyles, where you use a normal skill rotation before unleashing the more powerful Archon-powered skills. For example:

- The passive skill: The buff is associated with a new passive skill tree notable called "Archon of the Storm" (for the lightning version). Separate nodes for Fire and Cold Archons are also available in the Sorceress area of the passive tree.
- The effect: Once the condition is met, the caster converts all elemental damage to the chosen element (e.g., Lightning, Cold, or Fire) and receives a significant damage buff to that element.
- Activation:
- Lightning Archon: To activate the lightning version, you must spend 100% of your mana. The buff then lasts for about 15 seconds.
- Cold and Fire Archons: The activation conditions for the Cold and Fire Archon buffs have not yet been publicly revealed.

Had to switch to the Steam client after 5 of those. At least Steam is using my full download speed too, the standalone download would've taken 3-4x as long to download just the patch compared to Steam doing the full game.

Yeah, steam is the way to go. Sometimes you have to restart it to get the patch right away, but Steam just works. Took like 5 min to download patch.
Make sure you guys go and merge your merchant stash tabs from POE1.

so i was in the grelwood playing a merc, my dps was pretty sad, just kind of rolling around adn shotgunning. i started an abyss event i guess and they flooed around me HARD. and in slow motion i saw an exalted orb fall on the other side of some logs . i tried to grab it but i was boxed in. no amount of rolling or watching my skill slowly refresh could save me. if only i had dashed sooner.
