Been playing this for a bit, bought it when it released but between having other stuff to play and my initial 30mins experience in 0.1 of minions being super dogshit, I hadn't played since now. Made another minion char, they got buffed real nice, honestly feels better to level with minions currently in PoE2 than it has most of the time in PoE1. The auto rez shit works nicely to not make it feel bad whenever your minions get wiped by a big aoe, and you get a nice large army of minion with Unearth that feels very summoner-y. Main downside so far is once I got to vaal guards I switched to them and they're good but they make the game completely unreadable. I have no fucking idea what's going on in boss fights, I just run in circles hoping I'll dodge stuff because I can't see the boss. Cleared like half of act4 so not too far in, decided to check out some other stuff though.

Rolled an unarmed monk and it's pretty funny how much more work it needs. Typical anti melee PoE shit, every boss slaps you with basic attacks constantly and everything is more of a pain to dodge. Still feels pretty fun so I'm going to keep playing it for now.

Anyway this feels like a really nice game, combat is a lot better than PoE1 and sprint is quite nice other than the "stop sprinting slide animation lock" shit which is really fucking pointless and annoying for no reason. Hear endgame is kinda shit though but since they're working on that next patch I guess they'll be in a pretty good spot soon. Still need a billion classes and ascendancies though.

Sprint requires dodge rolling to start, controls like you're naruto running, takes too long to drop out of warp, is liable to get you stunned, and reminds you of shitty level size because that's the places with runways worth using it.

I don't get why sprint got such a good reception. It's peak ggg fart sniffing.

YOu can cancel it by rolling or using an ability. Its actually feels really good on controller.

The leap slam build looks cool but are you just vulnerable for like 1-2 seconds while your hang timing in the air? Or is that an iframe? Does POE even have iframes?

I think it works fine for what it's meant to be, a way to backtrack better. Granted that's an issue with level design to some extent as you said, but it's fine and especially useful when doing shit like first time campaign where you will backtrack regardless of level design just to get everything and such. It could be iterated to remove some of the annoyances but I think for the intended purpose as a out of combat travel tool, it works well, better than quicksilver flasks that run out after 2 uses for example(obviously quicksilvers are a lot better overall due to also working in combat effectively becoming permanent speed upgrades in maps, but that's a whole entire shit design level of having to flask spam or use a macro to do it).

I haven't tried canceling it, is it immediate or do you still have to wait for that silly animation?

I'm not sure I agree that it works as an out of combat travel tool. I almost never play cyclone builds in PoE1 because it constantly asks "should I stop spinning and move just a bit faster to the next pack?". I don't like that question because the game frequently doesn't give you enough information to confidently answer that question. Sprint is similar. Should you sprint to the next pack? How do you quickly and confidently judge that not only the distance is correct but it's also safe to do so?

A friend is trying some Lich Crossbow build with no reloads. The unique was kinda pricey though.

Might respec later to try it out but would need an entire new set of gear so it will be expensive.

PoE2 needs more design "choices" like this. I'm very surprised that the same mentality that restricted heralds to martial weapons in 0.2, neutered concoctions in 0.2(they're still shit in 0.3), and made Marks unintuitively attacks in 0.3 did not also nerf that crossbow.

Please follow build.

I've never had an issue with it, and I use sprint not just for backtracking on more or less cleared maps but also when I need to get from a 'dead' part of a breach to another active spot before it starts to collapse. I don't know if starting to shoot counts as an animation cancel or not but I've never once been knocked down.

Rhoa is still the true godking ability of 0.3 though. I don't think I'll ever be able to play a build that isn't bow or spear again in PoE2. Sprint might be faster but rhoa is the best QoL ever and that goes 10x when you're also playing with a controller.

Anyone else playing LA or know how the mechanics between the LA beams and Lightning Rods work? I'm not really up on my PoE rules about stuff like chaining, shotgunning, etc. and PoB2 is basically useless for calcs that involve multiple skills interacting.

I've got enough div that I could blow ~20 on a couple +1 arrow runes, but I'm trying to decide if this bow is worth committing that much to:
1757608022575.png

Total dps is 479, ele part is 284. Dropping the Thane runes for Seskes lowers ele dps to 202. I assume going from 4 to 6 arrows way more than makes up for any of that though.

As far alternative ways to spend the currency, 20 div wouldn't even buy a tiny upgrade to the bow itself at this point so realistically about all I could do is blow it on crafting stuff to try to make more stuff to sell and I'm getting bored of that.

Edit: Or a Rakiata's Flow for my LA.

I was bored this week and decided to give this a try before it's nerfed for being fun. Thanks for posting or I wouldn't have touched the game again this update.

Spent about 2 divs total on this char and can clear T15s so far np. Only have 7 div so his final build is far far away =D.

  • There is now a short grace period at the start of a sprint where being hit will not heavy stun you. This is equal to the minimum sprint duration, so you can now never be stunned out of an accidental sprint. The minimum sprint duration has been increased slightly to support this change.

Had some crazy drops today. Blev all my currency yesterday on a Diallas gem. Now after like 10 maps I'm back to 31 Div. Weird how the drops can swing.

I get aids thinking of crafting so all my currency is from drops I exchange at Ange.

got some mind of jewel with 4 unveiled mods that sold instantly for 6 div. Worried I ripped myself off. The site is confusing because there’s all these stupid listings with Annuls and other odd currencies and I’m not able to figure out the real price. Wish Poe ninja would start working for poe2

"Exalted Orb Equivalent" is basically useless and so is "exalted or divine orbs". GGG was never able to implement even the most basic exchange rate stuff in PoE so that multiple-currency searches would be even remotely accurate and it's just as terrible here too.

For cheap stuff just search for exalt only, and for anything really valuable you end up having to do every search twice--once just with exalts and then again with divines. Just ignore the retards trying to use anything else, especially when you're just wanting to price check something of yours. It's not worth keeping track of more than one conversion rate, especially with whatever tomfuckery has been going on this week with the currency manipulation. Going from 70ex:1div to 145:1 (and ex nearly equal with chaos to 4.5:1) in the space of a couple days is some serious bullshit.
