Well, I got bored with the 400 games in my Steam Library and needed a break from War Thunder, so I bit the bullet and installed and played PoE2 for the first time since 0.1.
And you know what? Not bad, GGG, not bad. The campaign is still a slog, mostly because I had to full clear everything to make sure I got all the benefits while leveling, but the end game has significantly improved, even if the map layouts have not.
I am playing a spin-to-win Martial Artist, because I only play the meta-ist of builds, and it has been pretty fun so far. Up to playing T8 maps with little challenge as I climb the tiers (not yet level 80).
My number one complaint right now is that there is actually TOO MUCH to do at the beginning of end-game. So many quest lines to follow, so many directions in which to travel. I am now focusing on getting as many early atlas passives (before unlocks) as possible to make the other quest-line journeys more rewarding.
My other complaint is that dying in a map is still too punishing, especially after GGG just introduced a further 50% exp nerf to re-doing a generic map if you fail the original. That's a little too much friction, GGG. I haven't actually failed a map yet, but I HAVE died to a map boss, and losing all the loot and mechanics left on the way (especially if rushing with Delirium) feels really bad, man.
