To clarify, I believe Jack in the box can't award boss specific items. The Void can do that, so long as the boss specific item has a corresponding divination set.

So am I understanding how all this fits together in that I can use cyclone as my actual DPS skill now for clearing, and rely on impale stacking to get some boss DPS as well? I'm not missing any strange restrictions or anything that would prevent cyclone from applying impale?

Haven't mathed it out yet. But, shield charge/leap slam/chainhook are obvious options. Maybe vigilant strike/concpath.
CD is .724s with its 38% cd speed at 20, btw.
Its a SEPARATE extra hit. which might have value somewhere. Impale for example.
Ruthless is top teir dps in many skills as a support and its 132% more damage every 3rd hit.
Shockwave is clearly strong for clear, as its BURSTING frontloaded damage.
And an extra 210% of base damage hit is often over "100% more" damage.
1000 damage baseweapon damage leap slam. 1200 base leap slam+2100 shockwave for 3300 total.
Shield charge might be the REAL winner. does it shockwave mainhand or offhand shield? If its the mainhand weapon, you have might have some real interesting options.
So shockwave might replace ruthless or even multistrike. Especially with ani-cancel and dodge skills. dealing 400% weapon damage, dodge, 400% weapon damage, dodge. is a HELL of alot better then standing there for .75seconds to deal 475% multistrike damage, etc.

I took Unwavering Stance, I know you said you don't like it but I'm not planning to wear evasion gear so I don't see why not.
Right side of the tree has frenzy charges, life/ES nodes, and really concentrated stat nodes next to really good notables. The area with the Aspect clusters and Force of Nature by Ranger is ridiculous for something like this, because they changed the Aspect nodes from physical damage to just straight attack damage.

Frenzy charges aren't worth investing over finding more strength. That's why the ranger area doesn't make sense. No ES nodes(which you generally don't like anyway), jewel socket placement makes it really hard to convert your pathing nodes from dex to str, and the attack nodes still aren't as good as just plain finding more str.

It's quite easy to get your movement skills fast enough to 3x the speed of that cooldown.
I guess it really depends on the size shockwave.

Ya I mean it applied a (I think) 30% damage bonus, blinded mob and procd full power charges instantly if it hopped into a pack with increased crits, power charge on crit, blind. Just so dirty on sab.
Really really insane for support and to set in from of a trap pile before pulling a nasty boss/double boss via smoke mine.

No, but if you're going to attach it to a spammable movement skill in the hope of using it as a clear skill, I can see hitting new packs within the cooldown of shockwave.

When you say frenzy charges aren't worth it, you mean with Brutus Lead Sprinkler specifically right? Cause frenzy charges still seem pretty ok to me otherwise. Can even get kinda free frenzy for trash clear with the new minimum frenzy charge node, since it also gives 5% on kill to generate, so you're always at least at 1 and when clearing maps other than bosses you're maxed(can do bosses with the actual frenzy skill). Also these nodes increase the potency of frenzy charges quite a bit, these nodes are pretty crazy tbh. There's a lot of really strong nodes all over the bottom of the tree now.

Let me clarify my criteria. When I evaluate a node just on numbers, I look at the EHP and DPS per passive point to acquire it. If DPS/2 + EHP < 2.0%, I generally don't get it. Some builds require special consideration, but that criteria generally works for the most part. Then you thrown in intangibles like speed, resists, etc.
If you happen to pathing right by the node, 2 points to get a max frenzy charge provides ~2.5% dps per passive point, so not enough for me to pick it up even considering you get a bit of attack speed. There are so many other better nodes, dps is so easy to get, you really shouldn't go out of your way to get pure dps nodes unless it's the stupidly powerful ones like EO or crit multi.

With these nodes though, each frenzy charge is: +5% increased damage, 4% more damage, 6% attackspeed, 4%castspeed(not relevant for DPS but nice for utility when using spell stuff like spell casting totems and what not), 2% movespeed and 9% evasion(assuming you grab the other frenzy evasion node). I guess it's a bit of everything so might be tough to calculate, but decent filler points, I see your point though I'll check pob I think I can get some better nodes for the 2 points that only grant increased frenzy duration on the way.
Edit: 3.2% per point for these in raw damage on my build, plus some evasion and 1% movespeed.
Yeah you're right I never actually looked at it much and just went with the "I get frenzy charges so I might as well get all the nodes" formula, but it's very easy to find better nodes. Just the Quickstep shit near Ranger is 4.6% damage per node AND 3% movespeed, so I only sacrifice a bit of evasion. And if I start removing them, I might as well remove the evasion one since it doesn't give much evasion anymore. Still think the minimum frenzy charge is worth it so I generate them without requiring an external source on mapping.

I'm actually wondering if my idea of the build is way different than yours, I find the DEX nodes to in general be way more concentrated around the jewel sockets than the INT ones. The jewel by Ranger has 80 DEX if you come in from the left, the one by Shadow has 70. You don't get that much conversion from the INT nodes, other than the new one with Utmost Intellect. The Frenzy charges are just 4 points since you're in that area anyway. It's 20% more damage, attack speed, and movement speed.
I was actually thinking of using Ice Crash, with Pulverize it looks like you can min/max the attack speed to exactly coincide with the cooldown on Shockwave support, even with Frenzy charges.

This is my BLS build atm. Obviously it's overtuned in the passive budget, but I don't think that's worth finetuning until PoB is fixed up. Tectonic Slam restricts the Ascendancy choice, otherwise Chieftan/Raider or Berserker/Raider would be viable. But even then, the frenzy passives are not worth it. I actually can't find anything in the ranger part that fits (dps/2 + ehp) > 2.0%/passiv, assuming you're pathing right nearby.Ice Crash eh? I have never been a fan of the feel of slow skills. But it does look like you can pump some serious area, maybe they will be alright now. How big will Ice Crash's outer ring be now?

Ice crash is great melee dps. but its one of those pure melee skills that is a bit of a pita, as you leave 1 monster here, 2 monsters there left alive, as they weren't in the aoe. so either you leave them, or waste a ton of time, running/diving to that straggler and killing it. I played it last in abyss, which again great dps... but holy fucking shit those fucking spitting worms drove me nuts.
Maybe these new movement skills will help let it move from npc to npc at a more reasonable pace, to keep up with screen clearers like sunder, etc.
Another thought on shockwave. assuming it procs at hit location, not you, it might have use with frostblades to proc a large aoe hit on the other side of the screen for some reason. coh most obvious.
