That's on my list things to fix for next league. I was disappointed with this skill as a league starter. It wasn't until I slotted in Paradoxica and crit scaling did the dps really take off.I'm converting my slayer over to something similar currently. Gave up on the Rakiata's plan for now. It's not bad really, but it's also not good enough to justify over just using a gigantic banishing blade or some kind of 1h+shield setup, either in terms of raw damage potential or having increased defenses from a shield. I think in a world where it wasn't a t1 unique and worth several divines based on disenchant value alone it would be a very strong leaguestart option though.
How did you end up liking no multistrike? I know ele hit is weird with it and will pick the same element for all the repeats and makes equilibrium weird, but even still I would have assumed the gem was simply too much raw power not to use.
I agree the aura options aren't spectacular, but given the pathing I think it's probably an iron reflexes+determination angle rather than some dumbass herald. You'd have to use a timeless jewel in the more expensive ranger start area, but it wouldn't be too hard to slot in determ and end up in the ~30k armor range to make phys hits a lot more comfy in situations where endurance charges are down.

Think of it this way, EE will ruin multistrike's damage repeats, which are supposed to be the majority of that gem's damage. For simplicity, assume the target has 0 resistance. Mulistrike + EE averages out to (1.25+0.75*1.22+0.75*1.44)/3*0.8*1.44=1.25. If your target has lower resistance before EE is applied, that number improves.
I haven't felt the need for multistrike's speed(already at ~5 APS) nor autotargeting since picking up Sione's Ambition. I prefer to quickly 1-tap a pack, not attack until they're dead, so that would mean interrupting multstrike's high value repeats a lot.
Lastly, I'm playing a version of the build that depends a lot of per-hit damage for ailment application. For the most part, those hurdles are cleared just fine. But I have noticed that I can 100% -> 0% special Maven Invitations with the target never receiving a full shock even though my PoB says it's abundantly possible. Multistrike would exacerbate the already inherent streakiness to Elemental Hit's element choice and lightning damage range.
Determ might work. I might see if melding of the flesh can be forced into the build.
Expedition's End was initially for chill and consistent freeze when I was playing non-crit Frostbreath. With Paradoxica and crit, the freeze duration can get pretty stupid, so perhaps not needed. It is nice to consistently freeze and shatter everything on the first hit, no matter what.First thing I noticed was inconsistent ailment effect as well. It's got to just be some rng issue of which element it picks combined with low rolls on the lightning damage resulting in poor shock application. Some of amount of ailment effect someplace would help tremendously, but it's a bit awkward to get without spending a zillion inefficient points.
I assume you're using expeditions just to ensure big AEs on the first hit? I haven't really felt the need for too much more AE and rare chests get so damn juicy these days.
Quick and dirty level 91 conversion off 2h zenith I did today. My oppressor obviously has the suppress downside still, but for the price of 50c it's tough to beat and takes a ton of pressure off block/spellblock wheels to allow a thread of hope to save a bunch of points for picking up a suppress wheel.

I had thought it would be needed for big AoE, but nah. You propagate ailments as you swing through a pack, by the time your swing hits the last enemies in the pack, they already have that ailment on them and will splash with the big AoE.
What are you ideally looking for in a chest? Fortify and some armor and evasion? I was hoping corrupted Expedition's End would be available, but there's little market.
I ended up just brute forcing it the same as I would in PoE2. Bought about 50c worth of max resolve relics, did an ilvl 81 tome just to be safe, and swapped to using gamepad for it (this was probably the biggest factor). Rolled into Lycia's room with 1000/1000 resolve and even a Sanctum hating noob couldn't screw it up at that point. Its been a few leagues but I think it's all about inspiration. TBH I forget why (maybe it refreshes every floor? or it interacts with boons better). I just remember once I had a solid amount of inspiration sanctum became much easier. Where as in POE2 its all about resolve mitigation.
Yep, I really want 20s charge duration, which undercuts the value of thread. Or you could use a shit chest like restless ward.
Thoughts on using arkhons tools for scorch instead of boot slot? I want another slot that can roll suppress, but 35% reservation seems silly.
The relic in thinking of is gain x inspiration on getting an affliction. You pretty much end up with 1000 inspiration at the end of the run with a couple of those.I ended up just brute forcing it the same as I would in PoE2. I guess I don't get inspiration still. I had 200 at one point from the rainbow fountain and then 100 per floor from a boon, but once it's gone it's gone. I was running with % increased max resolve, +% resolve gained, and flat +max resolve every time I used a fountain or killed a boss.
