the wiki is wrong about aura gem levels. I think it's just defaulting to showing the entire gem level range possibility under the merc skill for some reason.I'm done with the char so I unspeced my entire tree and the aura with 0 scaling of any kind is roughly level 26:
Still quite good, but also not ~1500 flat lightning damage good either.

Still, as you say, quite good. I try to normalize "Starter" level of gear to 10s of chaos per item with a few exception. Like in this case, with tons of added flat, the obvious answer is Paradoxica. And Mageblood....I hate being slow.
I'm going to try a Stormhand. Not sure if she'll stay in aura range reliably. But I wanted to be able to equip sceptres and cast conductivity. I don't know how you were getting to 200% increased effect of wrath otherwise.

You count as a unique/pinnacle boss so a rare chest piece can roll up to like 65% effect for a single aura and then another 35% general aura effect. 30% from an amulet corrupt as well, though those seem to be getting very expensive. These are a colossal pain in the ass to roll though, so be warned. I think getting the pinnacle wrath effect cost me something like 12 divines of grand eldritch currency.
Dual scepters is definitely the play for max aura scaling though, as that crusader mod can roll ~40% per weapon on them. Overall the combatant I was using was not that great unless you really want his purity of ice to do a melding of the flesh - his damage was like maybe 500k, his AI was rough, and his application of sap was extremely inconsistent for really dense maps lategame.
Leadership annoint felt like more than enough to ensure 100% aura coverage, but if you're somehow outrunning the merc theres that weird hidden beacon of hope annoint that is something dumb like 100% aura area of effect.

Well, shit - after taking a break, came back and no-deathed Maven for the first time ever. That was sweet. Clearly the core tenet to beating that fight is "don't panic", which I will admit is difficult for me in video games lol.
I gave up on my quest for 100. Stopped at 98 so I can actually do harder content again.

Those people likely have hideouts that can't/won't load properly (on purpose) on bad computers to try and pricefix with the new buyout system.

Ended the league Soulwrest Reliquarian. First time I've seen Bonemeld used, so it was an interesting build to theorycraft. Certainly overpowered as I was able to squeeze 80M boss dps out of 15D. The only clunk, and it's serious clunk, is that the phantasms can leave unexpectedly squishy if they die, expire, or you don't have targets for a while. I hope they have more things like this for Reliquarian each league.
This build really shines in map blasting somewhat difficult content. Killing Marshall Vruun before he even begins emoting. Destructive Play with scarab of interference, all dead as Maven summons in 6 bosses. I've done a lot of Marshall Vruun since 3.28, sometimes he just trucks you, so it's nice to repay him so consistently. I'm new to the interference scarab this league, but it was giving my previous builds(shield crush slayer and HRoC) problems, usually Drox one shotting me with big phys hits.
I'd love for someone to show me a Luminary PoB with the merc modeled. I don't doubt they're OP, there's too much evidence of such, but I could never get that in PoB. I hope they deal serious problem of finding a decent merc, but it will probably get buried in nerfs instead(that it deserves). It's kinda silly Merc content only exists to service one ascendancy. Nobody is using it for temporary pets.
Wrath-aura merc was pretty good, just overshadowed by Soulwrest Reliquarian. And, I'm sick of Smite.
Tried Uber Dan's Static Strike Endurance Charge stacker. Half-assed it(12 charges instead of 18, fuck those prices). It was gay. In ways that 6 more endurance charges wouldn't solve.
League mechanic was meh. Some form of the boat crafting looks interesting, but I've never been a huge fan of PoE's crafting since it's just gambling in disguise. I did hunter slam my boots and got tailwind! No idea how lucky that is. The gameplay of this league was extremely boring.

The last few leagues I've primarily ran with Ascendant spectres with the Catarina bloodline but decided this time to do a Luminary. That char went the distance (40/40, level 100, etc) and I've leveled two other Luminaries just for messing around. I've tested ED/Contagion, totem stuff, lots of different angles on Holy Relic of Conviction, Spirit charge stacking Lightpoacher (merc shares charges), flame link a bunch of your minions and a few others.
I know all the attention is on carry mercs with an eye or two on Rallying Cry but support mercs are not okay. My expectations for the next league are some small nerfs to the top end of carry mercenaries, then big nerfs to carry mercs the league after and then big nerfs to support mercs the league after that when they take the spotlight. You've got to build around them a little bit and the gear gets rather particular but they're gold.
You wouldn't necessarily take Bestowed Knighthood on every support merc but 4% representation gives you an idea how slanted things are now towards carries. I had fun with Curse of the Allflame but I was I was disappointed by how many content creators bailed on the league or otherwise failed to explore any of the new stuff. This is the most that my enjoyment of a league has been misaligned with the loud (Reddit) part of the community. It started day one as people struggled to get their carry merc online as I was zapping bitches with Absolution backed by free Wrath/Zealotry.
