In the opening of the finale they do the "previously" shit and in his interview with the Justice Gang they ask him about his super power. He replies, i'm considered the greatest marksman in the world. If I recall the only time he touches a gun this season is fighting the sons of liberty in the building and I honestly think he might not have even used one then. I recall he keeps walking past guys he beats up and not picking up their weapons.

I figured Rick Flagg Sr was going to end up as clayface with how shitty the character was vs Commandos, but nope just shitty writing.

Whole finale was ass. I doubt there is a season 3. If anything they will make a new show about the powerful ladies of Check Mate.

Gunn has doe so much good work, but he now has too much power and is going for Taika Waittit and smelling his own farts and shying away from the good that got him there.

I get that its hard to make a DCU that combines family rated movies and a R rated shows. So then dont force it. No idea what this moron was thinking.

To be fair to the guy, imagine having to tell your old lady every single day "No honey, you look so much better after the plastic surgery."

Yeah this was a weird way to end. I guess they're showing Rick Flags indirect corruption via Lex Luthor to maybe set up how he eventually gets out of a 200 year sentence or whatever, but they did make him go from grieving father to general douche pretty fast. Even in Creature Commandos he was 100% likeable, but maybe he was changed by having his shit rocked by meta humans.

I think they needed a lot more back and forth dialogue which is what makes this show great, but most of the characters were in a mopey shit place so they couldn't have those light fun conversations they had in season 1 all the time. The reason this show was great was LITERALLY the goofy banter. The action was okay, but I can't remember a single fight scene from Season 1 and apparently Vigilante fought a gorilla with chainsaws. I think he just went a little too fart sniffy with it and should've just had moments of clarity and insight during what is chaos, insanity, and stupidity rather than just trying to hammer the "human" thing the whole fucking time.

I could definitely see them doing a season 3, but I would be surprised if Salvation isn't addressed somewhere else in the new DCU first.

half of eaglys screen time was tied up w/ that stupid rooker injun storyline, and the more vigilante you got, the more you wanted to see, so like why just dole out crumbs

Jesus Christ that Nelson scene was the epitome of cringe. A washed up tween pop band sequence is the focus of the finale? WTF?

Oh and cap it off with fat black ugly lesbian cringe for good measure.

And what in the freddie mercury world of faggots was that at the end?

It really was one of the worst episodes Ive seen in a while, I didn't make it through alien earth so....

Nothing happened with the alien from the other dimension, his brother is alive whatever, judo master was pointless same with Rookers character, list goes on. Super gay, I don't even get the point of the mexican chick

Eagly, and Vigilante are the only positive thing. Ladiesman was good too I guess

And why were they bothering looking for a Earth-like planet? If they *really* want to be rid of meta humans then throw them in the black hole door. No coming back from that period.

I seem to recall that door having a note along the lines of 'this one could be promising'.

I think the idea would be to make it more palatable to the powers that be. The idea that you're not outright killing them, just letting them live somewhere they can never affect Earth again. He still had to sell the idea to government.

The Taika Waititi reference is dead on. Gunn has too much power and control over the product now and he doesn't know how to hold himself back. Both of those guys could have benefited from some "less is more" reinforcement.

Was Gunn actually responsible for Penguin TV show or was it already written and in production when he came on? If Superman and S2 Peacemaker are his only projects in his "vision" then he is shitting the bed, and any hope I had for a good DC collection of films is gone.

This season reeks of Gunn coming in and saying he wants this, this, and this to be in the show and the actors need to end up here, here, and here. Then the writers had to go try to make it happen, even if all that shit made for an uninteresting narrative in the context of this particular show. From what I read of the MCU shows I didn't watch, it was the same formula of sacrificing a possible good character/premise in order for it to serve the greater "vision."

Historically that is usually the first step before governments start to dip their toes in outright genocide - basically the "move them somewhere else so they're not our problem anymore and don't step on the toes of people seeking to profit from the vacuum left behind"
