Ah alright I can't say I'm an expert in these hybrid cross cats. But doesn't F1 (aka the most standard expensive) mean its closer to Serval than house cat?

Different Generations?
There are many different number and letter variations to classify the different savannah cats, but to keep in in simple terms we differentiate the different generations using the (F). All Foundation Savannahs have an F and a number associated with it to indicate how many generations it is from its Serval ancestor. This however is not how TICA will recognize the breed. An F1 kittens would be the first generation removed from the African Serval. An F2 would be the second generation removed from the African Serval, and so on.
F1 (~53% Serval)
F2 (~29% Serval)
F3 (~16% Serval) and so forth.

Yes, that was my point, it works the same way as the Bengal lineage you pointed out. I looked into buying one a year back, then nixed that idea when I saw how much they cost..

Oh ok I think we took "least hybridized" in different directions. I thought you meant less feral and you meant most feral.

Yup, that's like the exact person I'd expect to have one. Some bleached blonde, fake titted bimbo.
I wish I could find the video but after that one with the bimbo originally came out some dude did a satirical version where he throws on a blonde wig and huge balloon titties, then shoves his poor cat into his balloon chest while shrieking "say mama".

I'll say mama for that lady. No I wouldn't marry her, but I'd take her for a spin.

On my dick. In case that wasn't clear.

I've wanted a Bengal for years, and I might actually get one when my current cat passes. She's only 10 so with any luck a Bengal is a long way off. Had a chick bring a Bengal she named Ninja in to the vets office once, and that name was no goddamn lie. Jumped all the way from the exam table to the top of some cabinets, probably 4-5 feet up and 5-6 feet over? Most ridiculous jump I've ever seen by a cat.

Spoilered just as reference to the original conversation about my cat that wasn't eating and had to have a feeding tube put in.
I appreciate the kind words, believe me. Yeah they checked her teeth and everything else. X-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, everything. She got her feeding tube yesterday and is adjusting to it. I've only done two very small feedings with it so far, but it is definitely better for both of us this way. She's still very weak and out of it, but I'm hopeful.

Here's a couple pics. Don't judge my dirty carpet, I've got her separated and as stress-free as possible, so there's no way I'm turning on a vacuum right now. The tube comes out the left side and is tucked in on the right side to keep it from dragging on the ground, and there is a removable cap on the end that I put the syringe in.

In these pictures she's just kind of zoning out over the water. She would lick a little bit, then just kind of stare off into space. Hopefully just after-effects of the anesthesia, but fatty liver can affect mental functioning too. Hopefully most of that goes away as she gets more food into her. She does respond a lot more in other instances, it just seems to be the drinking water thing where she sort of just zones.

For size.

EDIT: And jokes don't bother me, I understand where they are coming from. I make jokes that would sound awful out of context or in the wrong situation all the time, so don't worry about it. But I appreciate the concern.
So to update this story without a ton of detail no one cares about, I finally figured a way to get enough nutrition into her via the feeding tube and also limit (and eventually eliminate altogether) the amount she threw back up. She has started looking forward to feedings, purring while I'm doing it instead of trying to get away, and even being insistent and demanding about it when she's hungry. And more importantly, she has started eating some on her own again. It isn't enough that I feel comfortable having the tube removed yet, and she doesn't seem interested in dry food at all, which is what she ate for the previous 10 years, but the improvement has been dramatic.

I had a vet appointment Wednesday afternoon, and she had gained a pound and a half since the last visit, which is a lot. She's probably only supposed to be 10-12 lbs maximum, and she's about 10 right now. All of her blood and liver test numbers were back in the normal range except one, which was astronomically high before and is almost back down to normal again. Her personality has returned, she's grooming herself again, playing with toys, etc. I did have to end up separating her from the other cat so I could monitor her eating and pooping, and remove any potential extra stress, so I'm still working on reintegrating them, but as soon as I feel comfortable that she can eat on her own, I can have the tube removed and let her get rid of that protective collar which drives her nuts. And she can be a normal kitty again

I can't really describe it, but this is really a big deal for me and I'm beyond thrilled. If you're reading this thread and have pets you can probably understand. It was only a week ago Monday that she took her first bite of the wet food I set out for her, and I practically cried when she did. I'm no longer dreading coming home because of the fear that she might not be alive when I do, and she's happy to see me (and usually insisting that I feed her immediately). The turnaround was pretty drastic and sudden, almost literally one week still despairing that she might never get better and then the next wondering how soon I'll be able to have the tube removed.

Thanks again for letting me livejournal about it, it really helped. I'll try to get some pictures of her once we finally remove the tube so you can see what she looks like healthy, but that might not be for awhile.

That's awesome to hear, Void. Here's hoping she keeps on improving.

BF and I found a cat we love at a local rescue network last month. It's been a bit of a wait, though, as some of the kittens in her litter got ringworm and were in quarantine. Ours was clear though, until last week when she started showing signs of it. She was supposed to finally have her spay appointment Monday, but not sure she'll still be able to get it done since the ring worms so contagious. Just hoping it doesn't take too long to clear up, we're ready for the little floof to come home already. This'll be my first cat, as I've previously only had dogs, so it'll be an experience.

We got a "Clouded Jack" kitten a few months ago, he's awesome. Savannah x Bengal x Pixie bob.. has the bob tail, and also polydactl, 6 on front and 5 on back, 22 claws flying when he gets wound up is a downside. He was at about 10 lbs at 5 months old, not sure how big he'll get as it's experimental breed. Guessing ~20. High energy for sure, have to play him hard.

Just brought our new adopted kitten home. Say hello to Sansa! She's looking a bit nervous for now, so I'm just letting her roam the living room so she can explore and get used to things. She's already investigated the litter box and her water bowl, so hopefully that's a good thing. She's taken to hiding under the couch for now, so every now and then I try to coax her out a little with the lazer pointer, which seems to work.

My pug is a little too active and I'm literally trying to find him a cat perch as he'll climb/launch himself onto end tables to: 1) look out the window, 2) see what I'm doing, 3) engage in general mischief.

Thinking of something like this, but I worry about the turret being too small:Amazon.com : Molly and Friends MF-23-blue Two-Tier Scratching Post Furniture, Blue : Pet Furniture : Pet Supplies

We need a pet thread again! Share those pics and stories!

Brought home Sansa a few days ago and couldn't be happier with her. The pancake bed was probably the best purchase ever as she loves sleeping in it, playing in it or just plain swatting it around everywhere. She seemed to handle being alone today just fine while BF and I were both at work; nothing destroyed (yet) and it seems she just spent most of the time sleeping under the bed. She's also making it quite difficult to make this post as she's fallen asleep on my hand.

I've never seen anyone with more b.net friends than me, that's quite amazing. Also the way flats bend like that freaks me out

Yesterday was the first time in the 4ish years we've owned my dog that she just took off. She's been through obedience training and is usually pretty good about stuff. Usually we get ready for walks by bringing the stroller out, putting the kid in it, then leashing her up. She just sits in the doorway waiting patiently. Yesterday someone's dog got loose and she chased it. We live in a residential area but it is abutted by a highway, also a lot of car traffic at the time.

I'm 6'3" 240 pounds and I've never run so fast in my life. Had to chase her down multiple streets. Completely out of breath when I caught up to her. I Just walked up to her and said "NYMERIA" in the most stern dad voice imaginable and she just rolled over and started whining extremely loud. It was like I ran up and punched her or something, but realistically it was the immense fear she realized when she fucked up.

Took my cat in for a check up and her rabies shots yesterday. She is around 15 years old. She's in good health. Having a couple teeth cleaned and pulled tomorrow(canned food isn't good for the teeth). Probably going to be about 250-300 bucks. Cat is going to out live me at this rate.
