You sound like half our pilots. In fact most high end pilots are bitter still about the lib nerfs lol. I love infantry in PS2 though and really can't stand the scythe so I stick to the ground.

Im not bitter about the nerfs. Those nerfs increased the skill ceiling to where only maybe 0.00001% of all players in planetside 2 can do what we do. I'm bitter about how SoE tried to fix it. And in the end they reverted flak back to somethin that is 1/2 as effective as it was when we took over the skies.

The only games I have eve spent more on in my life was EQ and WOW. Both games I played for 4-5 years each. This game is still the most cash/time played hands down. Paying to beta this game reminds me of all the years I played EQ waiting for them to fix the billion problems with the game. It never came, and like most of the people here, we left for a game then came through on those promises.I have lost all respect for SoE, so much so that I laugh at all the EQ fanboys on this forum who honestly think EQN won't be a complete disaster.

The only beef I have with PS2 is that every time I start up the game, there's this laucher saying how it's installing a 4gigabyte chunk and I let it run through and 2 weeks later it says the same fucking thing. Just kills the mood.

Does anybody know if I upgrade the range/time on my ammo pack if it effects the ammo pack from your turret you put down?

Or is it only the in-slot ammo pack?

Affects both. I only use the slot 5 ammo pack, and the upgrades work (I'm maxed).

Patch came out, fixed some annoying bugs and added Savior XP

Two pretty big ones are
"Fixed Striker missiles flying through terrain and buildings and still hitting targets"
"Added a fix to prevent AOE damage hitting players inside IFF shields from certain angles"

Alert modifications
Continent-specific facility capture alerts have been modified. They will now trigger much less often and their duration and final reward have been cut in half.

Spawn priority changes
The squad reinforcement spawn list now deprioritizes regions where your side has a population advantage
Instant action has been modified so that it more often places people into active fights

Savior XP
Added a bonus experience reward for killing an enemy player who recently severely damaged, but did not kill, a friendly player

Physics and Projectile Improvements
Fix for guided rockets not traveling the correct path on other clients
Fix for projectiles not rendering when shot out of render distance (looking at you AV MANA turret)
Fixed Striker missiles flying through terrain and buildings and still hitting targets
Victims of the Phoenix missile should no longer see the projectile adjust course quickly within 10m and then detonate
Air to Air rockets won't look like they're bouncing back and forth to remote clients

UI
Made ammo pack indicators smaller
Server ping column added to server select
Changed ammo counter font
We've officially cleared out all the weapons and attachments from the Certification screen. Locked weapons and their attachments can now be previewed and compared in the loadout screen.
We now show the "Lock-On" display while in third person
Added another "Other" cosmetic slot for the Sunderer
Added a display for Above Mean Sea Level (AMSL) to air vehicles

Bug Fixes
Fixed issue where turrets and terminals would be instantly hacked or unrepairable
Added a fix to prevent AOE damage hitting players inside IFF shields from certain angles
Fix for scope sway persisting into optics that aren't intended to have any
Addressed large amounts of interpenetration in the spawn room at Andvari Frozen Reservoir that could cause players to get stuck in spawn tubes
Fixed a bug that caused Thermal or NV to persist when switching from the gunner seat to the driver seat in the Harasser
Fixed missing gate shield generators at Freyr Amp Station
Fixed the M12 Kobalt's thermal optics so they don't reset/fade in during each reload
Sunderer exhaust stacks should now display properly for players in first person that are seated in the passenger seat
Fixed a bug that allowed you to attempt to redeploy with the hotkey from the character select screen
Fixed missing reload audio for the Lasher X2
Fixed some alignment issues on the 3rd person Mosquito HUD
Pilots can no longer utilize free-look to lock on to targets
Rhino hubcaps now granted account-wide

Also through these fixes they managed to make the laser cannons on Magriders shoot out about 5000x bigger so you can't see anything at all when one is shooting.

Welp, they 'fixed' striker.... now my missles just fly towards the plane in a completely open sky then.....all just do a 90 degree turn from the plane and explode, no flares in sight. NEAT!

I know it's just PR nonsense, but having a tech director say "We have great ideas from some of the best in the biz on how to solve our performance problems, however coding is 60% science and 60% art" does not inspire confidence.

Thats, right, I don't actually trust a Director level manager at SOE to be able to add.

Yep now plane just has to fly up and out of render distance and missiles will miss.

Thats, right, I don't actually trust a Director level manager at SOE to be able to add.

I have 1.5mbit dsl (basically cans and string, all I can get here). Only had one hitch. It hasn't been a big deal in the past, I just go somewhere else, but those large fights are so much fun.

I regularly read the blog of Charles Bloom, just about the most brilliant coder I've ever worked with, and he has a post on some MMO stuff they've been doing. Didn't say who they were doing it for but might be planetside:http://cbloomrants.blogspot.com/2013...p-for-mmo.html

I put it to the test tonight with a 48+ on both sides biolab fight + grabbin some coalgirls stuff off usenet. The test was not successful, but It was surprisingly playable even in that impossible condition.

yeah my game feels better for sure since yesterday.
Notice better network smoothing this lastpatch. Dalton rounds feel like that hit targets more often. But that is a minor addition compared to the last major patch causing hitching for some users (even with SLI disabled). Nothing like running the game at 90fps only to quickly miss some frames and drop to 15 frames for 1/2 a second. The mouse controls have always felt off compared to the likes of Quake or Battlefield. Hitching only makes it worse.

The more games I play, the more I appreciate John Carmak as a programmer. He has always preached low latency input/output as the most important aspect of video games. All the hyped games with great gameplay ideas always fell short due to technical reasons (Looking at you Warhammer).

They really need to fix the Instant Action bullshit. And then add several random choices as well. I'm tired of getting stuck as as my only option a base with 0 enemies, 1-12 allies, and the front line 2 hexes away. It's like it gets "stuck" or something. Sure 2 hours ago when I used instant action that location was great. Now? Why the fuck is it still stuck giving me that?

And if they can't fix it, adding a total of 3-4 instant action sites would be great - so you push the button, see it's a base that the enemy is capping in 13 seconds with 90% of the pop, so you quit and try again for a new option.
