I would have the most bitchin gun collection in this world
I actually would have asked for a tank and not rhetorically. Plus I could think of some cool bitchin post apocalypse vehicle for living away from the swarm. They would of course build it for you too!

By the way my wife never heard of sodium pentathol or what ever. I'm like bitch have you never seen a spy movie?

it's well established that this show only works by having the protagonist by an insufferable dyke bitch. A man would of spend the first week pumping loads into every supermodel that survived the conversion and then fixed everything already.

yeah vince gilligan said he originally came up with the show with a male lead but realized the show would just basically be a porno for the first season so switched it to a woman lol

i find the mexican storage unit guy way more interesting than carol, whole episode i kept wondering what he is up to

That schizo fanfic video linked earlier about the whole twilight zone 600 year space flight shit was pretty retarded but it was right about one thing. Unless something changes or they handwave it away the 7 billion hive mind people have about 2 weeks left before they all starve to death. The entire human food chain relies on killing a lot of creatures at industrial scale and just in time logistics means they're already living on canned/processed food at 1 week in. I mean they kind of teased this when they had zero lobster available like day 2, but the reality is that applies to literally everything not preserved and there simply isn't enough to feed 7 billion people.

people just need protein, fat, and carbs to survive and probably half of the planet lives on little to no meat for 70-80 year lifespans. lentils, rice, and some fruit and most people will be fine and fat fucks would get skinny

like 30-40% of food produced is wasted world wide, because we are shit at getting food from A to B.

a hive mind would solve that problem instantly and nobody would starve and almost no food would get wasted. A hive mind would be infinitely more productive when it comes to nutrition, as they would have centralized kitchens (and living too) reducing massively the amount of heat/food waste. The current distribution system of everything is nuts if you think about it as an alien

sucks for me since i eat steak or chicken daily and i hate beans but i also know cows/chicken are way more wasteful than rice/beans, but fuck the Earth

they'll just handwave it away with a comment about ramping up farming or something

Oh man have I got some news for you.

Even an entirely vegetarian diet requires large scale industrial farming which kills millions and millions of wild animals, not including the deaths of billions of insects via pesticide/etc.

They literally can only do hand foraging to avoid killing animals, which will feed about 7 people. they've got like 2 weeks to live max.

Don't even got to worry about hypotheticals like what it takes to process petroleum into fuel, you literally cannot use any machinery to farm if you are even pretending to avoid killing animals, not a plow not a tractor certainly not a combine harvester. It's all gotta be done by hand and it will take about 75% of the worlds population in manpower to feed 100%, except you aren't going to get anywhere near enough yield farming by hand to feed 7 billion people, without pesticides insects will eat half the crops before you get them out of the ground.

its either hand waved away mcguffin style or everyone starves to death in the next few episodes.

I wonder how muscle memory/physical capability works for the hivemind. Like does every single person in the collective have the ability to do every physical activity to the extent of the most talented person on the planet? This is of course obeying the actual physical aspects of the individual involved. Like can every person now throw the world's best curveball and perform the most complicated of surgeries? Is every person now a potential super soldier with every bit of worldwide combat knowledge? A veritable Taskmaster if you will, but for EVERYTHING and at the absolute highest level. I wonder if the hivemind is an alien (or is it?) AI attempting to branch out into organic beings to attempt further expansion/integration/knowledge building. The main thing I don't like about AI being the bad guy is it's just... too on the nose for 2025. Vince Gilligan is way smarter than that.

They literally answered this in the scene around the table - "what if you accidentally step on an ant?" "We can't purposely go out of our way to kill something, but we can if it's unavoidable or accidental."

Also remember they have hundreds of millions of people that just died they have no problem turning into soylent green style nutrition. Don't think the hive mind stands on principle when it comes to those dead bodies.

not sure why you quoted me or what your point was. Ok they can drive, despite the fact that insects will hit their windshield and die while operating the vehicle. Cool. accidental, not intentional, you get a pass. Farming? Not so much, the use of pesticides or other methods for culling insects is intentional murder of living beings, never mind using machinery to harvest crops.

congrats, 2 weeks til everyone starves to death. Sorry the show runners didn't think of this when they pitched the show, but there is no logical out for them, stop trying to pretend like there is.

we americans are so accustomed to having ripe banana's delivered to our local grocery store no matter where we are or what time of year it is, we never think about what it takes to make that happen. Answer: The intentional death of a lot of living things. There literally is no out for them. Either everyone starves to death in the next few episodes or it's a mulligan and shitty writing.

7.5 days in as of the beginning of the episode. Curious to see how they solve the infinite lifespan zombie bullshit shows like Walking Dead have.

Don't know why you think 6 billion people are standing around doing nothing, they said they consolidated the food, not that they were completely stopping production, farming, and transportation. There's a dozen ways to solve these problems when you can throw completely unified manpower at the problem.

another clueless hippy who thinks food comes from the grocery store, might want to sit this one out since you don't have the intellectual bandwidth. The inability to intentionally take life absolutely completely stops the production and industrial cultivation/farming for food. You seem to suffer under the delusion that a) farming doesn't intentionally murder millions and millions of animals+ billions of insects and b) humans have just years upon years of food stored in warehouses or something, that food has an infinite shelf life, and that it's not delivered to our shores hourly from around the world based on what it is what time of year it can be cultivated and where.

outside of hardcore extreme preppers/homesteads with 19th century root cellars for storing preserved food virtually all fresh food is at the end of its shelf life by week 1 post takeover and has already been consumed. They are well into their preserves of dry stock like rice/beans/grains that were properly stored, the long term stores of gov't cheese are also nearly depleted week 2. by week 3 they have only preserved meats and canned vegetables, themselves with shelf life of 6months to a year, all that is likely gone in a single day. Afte that, the only thing left is things without a shelf life, like honey, of which like 80% of honey isn't even real honey it's just high fructose corn syrup.

First thing they did was let all the animals go including all live stock, of course they are no longer harvesting any meat animals, but you can't run heavy farm equipment without murdering rabbits and snakes and foxes and mice by the millions so you can't plant anything new, and you can't treat the crops that are currently growing now to prevent them from being devoured by insect swarms now so they're out to. You literally are reduced to hunter/gatherer except you can't hunt. You have to feed 7 billion people gathering by hand wild nuts and berries and shit.

The earth has a few locations which has an abundance of natural food production that would allow you to just harvest by hand, it's mostly the jungles where IQ challenged human beings never bothered to invent the wheel or tame rivers or do anything other than pick food off of trees, murder and enslave one another, and fuck monkeys. but that diet alone isn't enough without meat from eating said monkeys after you fucked them.

The hivemind knows that industrial farming will kill animals thus the hivemind can't intentionally do it. It's one thing to drive a truck down a highway, the occasional insect splatters against your windshield, nothing you can do about that, you didn't entice the fly to the highway. But planting fields full of food, that mice and rabbits eat? All living things need food to survive, you turned their natural habitat (a field) into a cornocopia of food, they will of course flock there and breed millions of baby mice and rabbits, and the snakes, and owls, and hawks will come in turn to feast on them as well. Without the ability to kill these animals you cannot farm, period.

The only place you could still farm would be in enclosed greenhouses and you would still have to do it by hand, congrats that will feed about 17 people.

That silly video posted earlier was absolutely right about this one thing, they are all going to starve to death

I think it is you who are misunderstanding. They CAN murder millions and millions of insects, rabbits, and snakes because they are doing it incidentally to farming, not intentionally.

They specifically said they can kill things as an incidental to a goal, just not purposefully.
