Why do we hate Manousos? In a portion of the time Carol's had since the joining, he's developed anti-Joining theory and test applications, using only reference material in a language he doesn't know.

Still see nothing to dissuade me that the critical conflict is Carol deciding between letting the Joined win and a Manousos 'solution' that may or may not work but will kill millions.

I don't. He knows what he has to do, and he's doing it. He's figured out they communicate via radio waves, and is pretty sure everyone still has their marbles, but they are being suppressed in some way. I'm pretty sure Carol's main job in the story from now on is to pothole his progress....she's become too enamored with that alien mind pussy.

Yea she asked for and was given a nuke, i assume incase they come back she can just nuke ABQ lol, or if they do turn her she can have Mano kill her.

She cant eat any food given to her now from them nor interact with them. They dont need consent to turn people (though they prefer it). Her fun times with the Hive is done.

What difference does it make? I thought Carol has to willingly accept conversion?

Carol has to willingly provide stem cells from her bone marrow since its a "violent" procedure that they cannot do without permission as they cannot harm life. If they create and use stem cells from her frozen eggs (even if its sci-fi, well so is the show and it creates a timer), that's just the breaks like when they contaminated food, transmission via non consensual kiss or via airplanes like the first episode.

Transmitting the virus at this point also does not need to be consensual but there is less risk for them if it is. Carol has about a month before she will have to cut herself off like Manousos originally did, hence the nuke. They will not willingly risk her or Manousos life by flying a plane or drone over to infect her as it risks them detonating it.

Yeah, that. The nuke is basically a deadmans switch to protect her from being forcibly converted but now that they have her stem cells she has 1-3 months to figure out how to reverse the joining.

Yeah but I mean, that is the show tho? Insufferable dyke being Insufferable. This is a long slow boil, tension building drama with delayed payoffs just like, oh, every other show Vince has done. I mean we may have wanted it to be a sci-fi mystery show but you know, the last 20 pages kinda explains why that's not a thing.

Granted the average viewer is a retard and half the population are even dumber than that, but a mystery this is not, unless you are fucking retarded. I mean I've spent all of 5 seconds thinking about it and with just a precursory glance I've accurately predicted 90% of the shit that's happened so far, not even a flex here most of the people, tuco, etc got everything right immediately. Only a handful of idiots even argued against it. a mystery this is not nor was it ever really supposed to have been.

I half expected the vacation montage scene with Carol and zosia to have been a dream sequence, I thought the purpose was she would never actually be happy. Plus there was some very poorly done, obvious green screen shots with just shit sloppy editting that made me believe that wasnt supposed to be real but then the show just rolled with it and used it as a segue for her finding out they already had her stem cells via her eggs.

I think its all kind of intentional because without the mystery elements for the first season Carol alone does not carry this show as a drama, shes too unlikeable and just fucking insufferable, but now that shes got a partner this becomes a sort of odd couple pairing and she is just a foil slowing down his progress to the cure

I've watched and enjoyed media where I could in no way identify with the characters. Bojack Horseman comes to mind. Carol's "the whole planet is starving imma go on permanent vacation with my GF" is some of the absolute most "I can't get inside this person's head even a little" that I have experienced in a very long time.

I didn't not enjoy this show but I continue to be puzzled by it. Tasteful camera work while a lesbian frowns at things - the show.

Carol and all the remaining survivors are being emotionally abused by the hive mind. Their reactions aren’t rational.

Manousos is the only one that is truly immune. The hive mind tried to reel him in with his mother, but apparently he’s such a loner that they didn’t know he hated his mother
