Took a picture of our Norwegian Forrest Cat trying out the snow. A little over a year old now.

Browsing this thread has put a smile on my face, thank you all. My nearly 17 year old calico, Mia, is beginning to lose the battle with old age and I'm having a real tough time coming to terms with it. Not sure what kind of time she and I have left but I'm definitely making the most of it.

Picked up this little Red Ackie Monitor today. Girlfriendo picked Perry from my list.

My old cow dog is coming up on his 12th birthday and he's really slowed down this year. I took him to move cows on the 4-wheeler yesterday and even with my young dog running alongside so he can have the whole back to himself he can barely stay on and then when he falls off it takes him forever to get back on. The last thing you want when the cows are getting away is for the dog to fall off and then spend 30 seconds working up the gumption to jump back on. I don't think he's on the edge of death or anything but I'm afraid I'm going to have to start leaving him home or in the pickup most of the time which is really sad to me. He's been with me day in and day out since he was 2 months old and he loves to work but I just don't think he can hack it anymore. I've also started lifting him into and out of the pickup every time because while he can still jump in, he looks like he's in pain all the time from the impact of jumping in and out and he's a lot less stiff and gimpy if I don't let him jump.

The young dog is coming along pretty well, but since she's always worked with the old man she's a little bit lost without him. It becomes clear that she was following him more than understanding my commands and she has no confidence in what I want her to do when he's not there to follow so I guess we'll have to work on that.

Cat refused to move. Dog was like ok. Just used her fat cat body as a pillow.

Added two kittens to the family, the older cat hates other cats so we found siblings so it doesn’t matter much.

That last picture is adorable. Im heartbroken to say that my little fuzzball passed on this past Friday. I'm a grown ass man but I've been a weepy mess all weekend.

She used to love burrowing under blankets and no matter how hot the Georgia heat was, it was a common sight to come home from work and find her under cover somewhere, waiting to peek out at me.

Here's our oldest cat. She's around 13-14 right now (not sure her exact bday) We thought she had gotten out this last Thursday as we hadn't seen her since Wednesday. Turns out she wasn't feeling well, and decided to hibernate by finding a way into a hidden space inside the back of some of our pantry cabinets. I only found her Friday evening because I had a "just in case, I'm going to go tear the pantry room apart" urge. Turns out she has a serious UTI, and was dehydrated. Doc gave her a "2 week broad spectrum antibiotic shot". But we're realizing now she also hasn't apparently eaten since Wednesday, so we're back to very worried. Not fun times for Mrs. Haus Mrs. Haus and I right now on this one. Especially since we're already handling a geriatric weenie dog who is probably fading.

His colors are really starting to come out with this shed, and he’s put on at least an inch in the last 3 1/2 weeks.

Teach him to hunt!

Our Ackie is a smaller cousin to the Argus Monitor, so he’ll never be big enough to eat an adult mouse. The girlfriend is still leery of lizards that can cause medically significant injuries. Ackie Monitor first, Lace Monitor next. 👌
