they have said that it's going to release for the last several years and its no closer now than it was a year ago.
TBH the CoA devs suffer from the same problem epoch devs did. They had an idea for a server, they had passion for it, which by itself is great, sure, but they don't actually know wtf they are doing.
They are still doing sweeping fundamental changes to base class mechanics every single patch, so realistically they are no where near close to ready. They abandoned doing any other updates to any other aspect of the game and have just imported all the changes that the bronzebeard team has done (world, quests, PoIs, world forged, tradeskill changes, etc) which is all well and good, doesn't really fit the atmosphere of CoA at all, but it does allow them to focus on finishing the classes and not worry about anything else.
but again, they don't know what they're doing, so every patch they just pick a class and completely redesign it from the ground up breaking everything and make it dog dookie, followed by months of minor tweaks to eventually put it back into a playable state. So they break a class every 2 weeks and it takes 2 months to repair it so pretty much at any given point half the classes are boondoggles
