That gif reminds me or a comment once which I will now slaughter paraphrasing...

The two best Muppet moves are hands down Muppet Treasure Island and Muppet Christmas Carol. In both there was one human actor and muppets. Both worked, but for opposite reasons.

Muppet Christmas Carol worked because Michael Caine played the role serious as a heart attack, and treated the muppets as other experienced thespians.
Muppet Treasure Island worked because Tim Curry decided to play it like he was one of the muppets.

Many a weekend night for me in the mid to late 80's was spent hitting one of the two local RHPS shows (there were three for a VERY short time). Lived in an apartment next door to some folks who were in cast at one of them. Very fun folks.
