On the Beach (1959) was remade in 2000. I haven't watched the remake, just the original in black and white.

Huh, I wonder how much that movie inspired Death Stranding 2: On the Beach which takes place in Australia.

Ah ok. Seems like These Final Hours still borrowed liberally from that story, because once again it is Australia, except this time they are just waiting for the firestorm to reach them after a massive meteor hit in the Atlantic and is wiping the world clean. And the movie ends on the beach no less, if I remember correctly. A quick google doesn't really show too many people making the comparison though, so maybe since I haven't seen them both I'm way off. Sounds really similar though. You might want to check it out all the same.

On the Beach (1959) is almost like doom porn. It's just showing how people react differently to incoming unstoppable death. There is a side quest with the sub, but its just there to set up some false hope. The ending really did sort of surprise me with the sub crew. I didn't expect Hollywood would go that route.

This movie is a big guilty pleasure of mine. Both as a fan of horror and B movies and of cars and speed.

I probably jerked it 100 times to that movie when I was 13.

**Edit**

Holy fuck just put on a random movie "Unnatural" from 2015 and she's in it! Looks like a 60yo granny that's been chain smoking for 40 years. Nasty. Can't believe I tugged my adolescent cock to that creature!

I have both on DVD, and I think they both might be available for free on YouTube. I watched them again earlier this year. They're both good, and the Armand assante one is actually pretty long. I have a feeling maybe it was a two-part miniseries on TV at one point.

I'm not aware that it is/was a remake, but you might be talking about These Final Hours. I really liked that movie, although it isn't one that I'd watch again anytime soon. The young girl in it was in The Nice Guys very soon after I watched it and was great there, and ended up with minor parts in all of the Holland Spider-Man movies (she was one of the school news anchors I believe), so it was interesting seeing her "grow up" in various movies over a couple of years.

Whether it is a remake or not, I would recommend watching These Final Hours since it sounds like On the Beach is very similar.
These Final Hours is a great movie. You can definitely see On the Beach influences. Another good one for end of the world character dramas is I Think We're Alone Now with Peter dinklage. It's worth checking out.

This was our 'date night' movie last night. Turned out the wife had never seen it. In her defense she was not in the USA very long when it came out at theaters. Movie still holds up, some of the technology is dated as hell but nothing to be done about that. 8/10 would watch again. 10/10 Marisa Tomei in that catsuit.

Terrible moving. Boring from beginning to end. It's like they were trying to be Reservoir Dogs with spies or something but failed miserably. I don't know how they got such big names, probably because it's an artsy movie with too much dialogue. The big reveal was anti-climatic. No tits, 10 seconds of action. 4/10.

I could not get this movie to look right on my TV. It was either super washed out or way super saturated.

Watched "Worth" the other night. Its about the Special Master law firm that had to decide the payouts on the 9/11 victims compensation fund. Its not a light upbeat movie. Lots of interviews (fictionalized) of relatives of 9/11 victims. Movie is based on the actual law firm and lawyers who handled the fund. Its rough to watch in parts, but its also interesting seeing the machinations behind the compensation fund and how victim's lives were "valued". You almost hate the airline companies as much as the muzzies at one point with their "fuck the victims, just settle it so we don't go bankrupt" lobbyists. If you like this type of drama I would give it a 7/10. If you don't like this type of drama or 9/11 shit then avoid it.

Rewatched X-Men First Class last night.

God damn January Jones was a smoke show. Also realized kevin bacon had to be the dumbest person ever in xmen history. His plan for mutant supremacy undone because he forgot a chinstrap on his helmet. And magneto doesnt even fix that.

Gave this a watch on the weekend. Both wife and I really liked it. Its about a group of people trying to make a stupid found footage horror film for $30,000, while a documentary crew films them. Won't spoil too much but the documentary records the real horror.

Comedy horror, small budget and no name actors. Buts its a lot of fun and well made. First 30 min may feel like a lil slow but once they hit the cabin it’s a great time.

Included with Amazon Prime

Burn After Reading 8/10 good funny movie with no faggotry.

All Nighter - 1/10 I turned this off. JK Simmons is good as usual but straight man/funny man combo is falls flat on its face as the funny guy is supposed to be funny just for being a pussy retard

The Baxter - 3/10 again same problem, main character is supposed to be funny because theyre a pussy retard.

Absolutely Everything - 4/10 this movie really missed the mark. Apparently this was Robin Williams final movie, what a shame to go out on this.

Robin Wright explained that Jenny is misunderstood and not a villain in Forrest Gump (1994)

“People called her Voldemort. I wouldn’t say that, but she was selfish—flighty, running. He loved her from day one. Even when she’s dying, he says: ‘I’ll take care of you at Mama’s house.’”

She's dying because she was a dumb whore that didn't want to be with a man that loved her. She only came back when she finally needed him more than she could ignore. She was the antagonist for sure.
