Remove Tarrant As Temporary Moderator?

I'm pretty sure I never triggered a mod to act at any point on either forum. The comedy of people doing stupid shit (at least from my perspective) and getting RR'd for a weekend or something was about the most I've witnessed of the mods on either site doing anything. Except when they banned qwerty on Rerolled, I guess. Everything else seemed more tongue in cheek than actual exploitation of mod powers.

Admittedly, I don't know if there was some crazy infraction fest or something that was clearly biased. There probably was and I just don't remember it. About the only real mod action would have been Tuco posting a Ned Stark picture in the middle of someone mid-bender on a thread.

It isn't just that Column is scared of change. Column is the kind of fucktard that has contempt for everyone around him, regardless of where he is at or what is happening to him. The literal epitome of the saying "if you can't spot the sucker at the poker table, you are the sucker" but too dumb to realize it and arrogant enough to think that everyone else is actually the sucker.

Couldn't agree more, I'm merely defending the position that not all of us get worked up over the drama. At the end of the day a_skeleton_03 put this together and I respect his decision to mod whoever he wants for help. Seems like there's a lot of second chances going around with this new site and if diplomacy is implemented on who will become moderators then it should ultimately work itself out.

Lets be real here. A Xenforo forum takes $200 and a few clicks of a button. After you register the domain name and wait the 3-4 hours for the DNS servers to point in the right place. So yes, if roughly 2 hours of work using a stock template from Xenforo is murdering himself... This is coming from someone who owns forums that are still used and are hosted on xenforo software.

I voted to keep Tarrant if he wants it. I mean, if we're theoretically being even more relaxed than RR was (and aside from being able to toss out offensive racial slurs constantly or post murderporn/kids dying or something) I can't see how anyone could fuck that job up, even if someone thinks a given individual has an agenda. Anything would be over the top egregious and highly visible, since I would hazard that at least 10% of our forum base has OCD to some level or another.

I get the desire to make a clean break from Draegan and the wounds are most definitely still fresh. I just don't see how our choice of mods matters really in the long run. Is a_skeleton_03 planning on banning/Rickshawing people for slighting Christians or something? What exactly are mods going to enforce aside from simply stopping spam shitposts? Besides obviously illegal shit like child porn etc. How would Tarrant do that "wrong?"

a_skeleton_03 is a twat, but I appreciate all the work he invested in the new forum. He also cares about the community, so I am all good.

I dont care if Tarrant is a temp mod. My only interaction with him is me calling him a American Inventor in a rep comment and getting a 7 day RRP for it. I cant really complain about that one I guess.

What rules? I'm actually just curious what the out of bounds stuff is supposed to be here vs. what existed on rerolled. Should I expect child porn or videos of people being murdered/killed and nobody blinks? Because outside of that, what exactly would be the requirement of moderation?

Isn't the whole point that this -isn't- rerolled, and thus has fewer regulations vs. what we experienced over there? Are we just assuming that a_skeleton_03 is going to let people who clearly don't have that vision in mind run the show? I'm not being silly or overly optimistic; I'm just completely confused as to what power a mod would have that wouldn't become -immediately- visible to the entire community as an outstretch of power. Especially given various people's run ins with the "law," so to speak, over at rerolled. I also can't think of an incident where Tarrant specifically was the cause of something like that over there. If there's links I'll gladly look at them, but aside from obvious shitposting going on and Tuco's Ned Stark pics, I feel like there really wasn't even a 5% unjust moderation rate on the other site. But I am open to being learned on that matter. The fact that hodj didn't get a permaban a year+ ago over there to me says volumes about the policies, but perhaps I'm just not involved with the craziness enough.

a_skeleton_03 has said the only rules are no dead babies and NSFW stuff can only be in screenshots.

But draegan's site originally had a limited set of rules too until they grew when the cuckmods "re-interpretted" them whenever they saw their SJW cuckbros getting hammered in every thread. First they revised history and said foh clamped down on the word "American Inventor"---which is preposterous speaking as someone who had been banned from foh a few times but never for referring to IRB by that very word in every post. Then they expanded that to anyone who said "dindu". Then they just expanded that to anyone who said hurty words that disrupted their bullshit sense of civility.

Eventually you had shit like people getting banned for linking a UN-sponsored campaign to oppose the mutilation of young girls and Tarrant running the grownup forum as his own personal fucking fiefdom where he could RRP anyone who interrupted his personal healing sessions.
