Built the Long Range Scanner and found some components... Finally figured out how Caravans worked but missed loading Pemmican so I almost starved lol. Forraged Berries for the survival.

Mined the map and came back and a Trader had 31 more Components for me. So now I am set for a while.

can anyone reccomend a good "repair armor" mod? I'm kind of tired of my pawns discarding their recon/marine armor, right before i land in space, and i have to sort out remaking the armor so they don't randomly start dying in space because they're retarded.

is there a mod that does "armor repair" in a some what balanced way? maybe eat some of the componants it's made of?

I never used one but I know my mega colony basically ended up being an infinite cycle of colonists making, using and upgrading armor. I can't remember if I used a mod to make them automatically upgrade armor or not. But if there was a decent repair armor mod I'd use it if I played again.

I'll have to test some stuff later maybe. My base is like that, kind of. i do have some one who continually makes good armor. they're set for melee guy/ ranged guy configuration and they replace armor....but the vacuum of space makes plate armor deadly. we'll be mining out an astroid, and raiders drop. i tell my guys to assemble and they do...then the retard who swapped his 42 percent marine helmet out for a crisp 100 percent simple helmet begins to soffocate and vac burn to death. super maddening.

You can avoid this behavior by tinkering with the allowed outfits, create one where you disallow any but the type you want them to wear. Can also be used to make them auto ditch anything that gets below 50%

Yea. Its been some months since Ive played. But some variant of this is essentially the answer to them wanting to be a 2 year old and run around naked (or in armor that is 1000% worse just because it has a better durability).

Well this is my base right now. Playing on low difficulty and I feel pretty stable right now.

At the end of the research tree now so I guess building a space ship is next?

Seems to take a lot of Advanced Components so need to figure that out.


Edit: Deleted the windmills and the batteries went to zero, can Geothermal not charge them up? Or did I just go under my power limit.

Yea I think it might have been missing one power tile to connect the last Geothermal.

Decided to start a new save file with the new DLC. Kinda lika having a base you can just fuck off with if shit hits the fan. :p

Slow progress, need more grav tiles now as I am all out. But got the food/fuel up and running at least.

decided to land and work on some walls for my gravship. re-do the interior, add an auto door or two. then a few days later got a message that a swarm of angry bears was coming...time to blast off half done!

did rimworld add a 'round planner' with odysey? or am i misremembering. i swear i read something like that. or was I thinking of a mod maybe?

Looking good. I have done two or three Gravtile missions, some are quite dangerous.

Need to do a few more to get more Tiles to be able to build something not mega cramped.

The game is fucking Hell Bent on breaking Boyle, always sending fucking relatives to attack and she goes emo and fuck up all the time hurting herself.

Think she's been on a breaking risk the entire game lol.

Might just kill her soon, annoying bitch. Harvest her organs for profit.

Current Gravship right now. Still mega cramped.

batteries next to chemfuel is not a good plan, this could wipe most of your base

space out turrets, the way you have them set up means 1 getting destroyed and exploding is going to destroy the other 2

you can use wooden doors inside the spaceship, these open faster then steel ones, improving pawn movement

steel furniture is worse then wood

a commode next to Gates' bed would probably benefit all beds in the room, you have 2 excess nightstands in there also

Thanks for the tips!

Yea I did have the Chemfuel in another place but the OCD made me move it around... Just got more Gravtiles so I could setup barracks on the other side of the ship.

So now I will tear everything down in the lower half and make proper Rec room/crafting room and maybe a real prison.

Also did not know doors had different speeds, thats nice to know! Might also switch to some cloth chairs but wood will do until then I guess, did not think mats made a difference theres besides fire proofing.

Applied a few of the tips, but lack of space is what it is. Was going to stock up my Cloth but kept getting fucked with the harvest, finally got a good haul on a map and could upgrade chairs and get new clothes.

I thought Flak Jacket would be good but I see on other places that Dusters protect good as well against damage?

Thrumborfur I understand as it is rare.
