At one point Michelin Guide was just an actual travel guide about where to get a good dinner.

The vast majority of these restaurants aren't selling you food. They're selling you an "experience" for you to go brag to your friends about, like our friend Chris here. Punko does the same thing with whatever $20 restaurant he goes to.

If you argued it was overpriced I’d have left it, but these experiences are better than a double double pretty much every time in my experience. Worth the price? Sometimes even that good. Lot of times probably not. I’ve posted here both very expensive meals I’ve eaten, along with literal slave porridge from third world shitholes. A lot of times I’d opt for the double double myself, but I won’t deny the merits of a fancy meal.

I didn't find the experience of a #1 restaurant in the world to be memorable enough to cherish and I would certainly feel embarrassed bragging about it the way these wage slaves like Punko and Chris do.

If someone came up to me right now and said "wanna go for a free 12 course meal at a 3 star Michelin restaurant or do you want 2 doubles doubles", I'd ask for the doubles doubles.
