I really do have to question pretty much everything about history now and the 1920's parallels are too thick to ignore. Does this mean all of the "Trump is a nazi" people are actually going to be accidentally retroactively onto something circa 2033 when his successor actually goes hard in the paint? He's just the "warning shot" after all.

2033...going off the history parallel but I think this also means I subliminally expect WEF stooges in power for the next two presidential terms.

I wish they could have just treated him with some modicum of respect and not shit on Luke Skywalker and Snow White. Like, we never asked much. Just don't put 40% of little boys on ADHD meds and then spend years trying to feminize the other 60%.

We are just going through the cycles same as everyone before us. We just happen to be the ones who studied history and can fortify ourselves against what is coming. Commies are notoriously shit about learning history, because they just want to burn shit down out of spite and jealousy.

Watched "Frida" (2000 or so) the other day. Good movie if you can find it anywhere, Salma Hayek is in her prime. Also the story is interesting, given that it's based on real events.

However it brought something to the forefront that I never paid attention to until the last few years: How communism is so often brushed-off by Hollywood movies and has been for a while. The movie mostly takes place in Q2 20th century Spain, and has the opportunity to critique both communism and fascism but shies away from the former.

There's one scene in the movie where a character rants about how he'd rather have Hitler take over Europe than Stalin because of how horrible Stalin has turned out to be, and that's about the closest it gets to a real reproach of communism. Even then it's mostly a reproach of this one guy rather than the ideology itself. So even when Hollywood is communism-critical, it has to be from the perspective of "real communism has never been tried" and "it didn't work because it was done wrong"

Contrast this with how fascism is portrayed as the greatest evil in history and the closest humanity has gotten to being demonic. Despite that communism had a much higher death count than fascism. To Hollywood, fascism is kill-on-sight, communism is just some happy go lucky business. Some people did something, a famine happened, maybe some purges but don't worry about it, free stuff!

Looking back at Hollywood in my lifetime, while it hasn't fully embraced communism, it has certainly treated it with kid gloves, so it isn't surprising how most of my generation (and younger) barely had any idea how bad communism actually was when we were growing up. Communism and its ill-effects were intentionally left out of pop culture as much as possible for the past 30 years or so post-Reagan, to the point that a lot of modern people didn't even know what they were looking at at first when it again started rearing its ugly head circa the last few years.
