Arsenal showing some backbone. 2-0 down at halftime and now pulling it back to 2-2.

Wenger proving he doesn't need no signings!

BBC Sport Chief Football Writer Phil McNulty at Emirates Stadium

"A real thriller - but not always in a good way. Glorious attacking - nonsensical defending."
Cracking result for Reading, that's 24 goals in 25 games for the lad!

Even as an LFC fan I don't think we deserved the point, Arsenal's defending is a joke and playing that negative is just retarded even though it almost worked. If a team can't defend then letting them hold the ball and invite them onto you means your chances of testing that defense are sorely limited. We probably should have had more than the 1 goal in the first half to make this whole conversation moot but I just didn't care to watch my favorite team sit in their half the whole game on purpose.

Rodgers needs to stop playing Wisdom as a RB as well, it's just not working as he can't get the ball forward at all and they just pressed him to death with an equally lackluster ball playing CB in Carragher next to him.

lol chelsea.

Not sure what the fuck Liverpool was doing in that game. Midfield playing so deep it might as well have been a 4-5-0-1.

Missed the game live, but just finished watching at home... Pretty sure neither of those teams look worthy of CL next season based on that performance. Arsenals defense = not enough vulgarity in the English language to cover my thoughts on it. Santos should take the next flight back to wherever the fuck he was bought from. That guy couldn't get minutes at Aston Villa for fucks sake.

1st half, we were quite lucky to only be down 1. Second half, I thought we dominated. Not sure why Pool parked the bus, as they looked threatening on the break - but the quality in the final 3rd from those not named Suarez leaves a lot to be desired. Attacking, Arsenal looked fine (even in spells in the first half)... but if AW re-watches that game and says we've enough quality to nick that 4th spot I'll pull my fucking hair out. If nobody gets injured from now till May, I agree with him... sort of. But if ANYONE goes down we're fucked. Gibbs out for 3 weeks means 3 weeks of Santos. FUUUUUUUUCK. Robben is licking his lips in anticipation.

Thought Wilshere was great though, as well as Santi/Giroud. Wilshere has the potential to be all world - which probably means he'll be gone in 2 years just as he's coming into world class form.

Watched highlights of Madrid/Barca... That Varane kid is the best young defender I've ever seen. Played absolutely terrifically and has superstar written all over him.

At least Chelski blew it to Reading and Spuds drew as well to keep us within touching distance. Still think it'll be tight between Arse/Spuds for that 4th spot, but we'll see. Chelski isn't exactly "in form".

Beckham to PSG, didn't see that one coming after the initial rumours saying it was a done deal 6-8 weeks ago went quiet. Big decision from the chap as he'll have to genuinely fight for his place there but tbh a much better team than I expected him to end up signing for. I was quietly dreading him turning up at somewhere like QPR.

Awesome, so Carlo Ancelotti who didn't want him as a player at Milan now also gets to not want him at Paris. And he gets him both times! What a happy man!

Transfer deadline day. Exciting day up ahead (apart if you are a Arsenal fan). Wenger to prove me wrong?

aaaa, Balotelli. I'll see you at your bankruptcy hearing a few years after your career is over. So in 10 to 15, I'll be waiting

Got into the office early just to watch the Arsenal meltdown when we don't sign anyone. Worst fucking day of the season for me. Heard some terrible rumors last night that Spurs were in for someone "big"? Must be fun....

Looks like Forest are signing up to five players today, Driscoll was fired with them one point shy of the playoffs and McLeish has won one in five since he took over. Last Saturdays home 3-0 defeat to Watford was truly fucking wretched >.< Oh well, at least we now have the Kuwaiti national keeper playing for us!

Chris Samba signs for QPR for around ?12.5M with a weekly salary of around ?100K

WTF? 'Arry is going to bankrupt them. I think Bale is on around ?80K at Spurs. Crazy wages.

Beckham apparently is donating his weekly wage to a local children's charity whilst at PSG.

Got to hand it to the guy, he certainly has a top PR machine around him. He sponsorship companies must be over the moon.

I'm known as a Beckham fanboy anyway but I was still amazed to read that from the livetext as the BBC stream is being shit.

Only a five month deal initially, I hope he does enough to earn at least one more year and a fourth countries league title would be nice.

I'm guessing France's tax rate has a lot to do with that decision as well.

Pleasantly surprised to see Hazard's ban held at 3 games. There were a good number of people who came out on his side, maybe that helped bring the FA back to reality.

Beckham is a pretty class guy, no doubt. Strange move for PSG though.

Arsenal appear to be on the verge of signing a Spanish LB I've never heard of - from what I've read though he's decent. At the very least this pushes Santos out completely, which can only be a good thing. Still need a DM and a forward, but signing anyone is surprising enough. Will Nacho be enough to push us over the top to a CL spot? Probably not..... I feel a bit guilty taking advantage of Malaga's financial woes, but it is what it is. Wish Villa played for Malaga!

That may be so but how many other sports stars on ludicrous salaries do that anyway? Probably my lack of wealth showing but what do you do with it once you get past 50-100m net worth?

Anyways, Arsenal apparently are trying to sign a new left back, Monreal of Malaga is allegedly on a plane to London. They are skint apparently so have accepted an ?8m bid.

Ouch, haha! Apparently the deadline in Italy closed at 6pm local time and they didn't have time to get a replacement
"Sky Italia are now reporting that Roma goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has in fact boarded a flight to London thinking that he's on his way for talks with Fulham. He's apparently expected to land at London Heathrow at 1910. Unbeknownst to Stekelenburg, 35,000ft below, Roma have stopped the deal. Pity the man who has to break it to him at arrivals."
