Could be worse though, could be Pool or Spurs!
Quiz of the day:

What has Bayern, Barcelona, Blackburn, Bradford and Birmingham have in common?

I waited for a while to double check it in case I dreamed it but bloody hellThe REAL Mighty Reds win 6-1

Billy Davies is awesome, I've always said so...

Tough start at Huddersfield for Robins, that's 10 goals they've let in during his two games in charge

Milan/Barca is a snoozer, standard anti-Barca plan of having 10 behind the ball just gets old. I guess it worked for Chelsea but you can only count on luck so often otherwise it's just delaying the inevitable.

You got to give credit

It ain't pretty but it works

It's either play this way and have a chance against Barca to sneak a 1-0 win like what's happening now or go toe to toe with them and get smashed off the planet

Well this is quite embarrassing. The more games I watch this season, the more I am growing frustrated with playing two attacked minded wingbacks. I miss Abidal.

Also first goal was a pretty blatant handball. Incoming Chelsea sized bus for 90 minutes at the Camp Nou to protect this lead.

I stand corrected calling BM the 2nd best team in Europe. They are in fact, the best. Great performance from Milan. Portsmouth > Barca.

Still haven't figured out how to crack the park the bus strategy. I am 99% certain we would have put up a much better showing against someone attack-minded like Bayern.

Might have been the worst performance for Barca that any of us have seen in 4 years, especially coming against what is probably the worst Milan squad of the last 20 years. They were just listless the whole game, yes the 1st goal was bullshit but it certainly doesn't seem that would have made any difference in the outcome with how bad Barca were playing. I don't believe they had a shot on target. Not that scoring 3 at the Nou Camp is unrealistic, just on paper this should have been a rollover with the Nou Camp game not even mattering.

No doubt about it. Barca (seemingly) haven't come up with that elusive Plan B.... they will need it, as you're right - Milan aren't sending ANYONE forward in Barcelona. Will be an interesting match.

I would agree with you if we were playing someone even as tough as Bayern or just about any attack minded team but playing someone like Milan I can guarantee will just stuff the middle with all 11 players as bad a Chelsea did, it is highly unrealistic that we would get 3 goals. Maybe getting two and then going to extra time/pks is a possibility but three is unlikely. Even with that, the fact that our defense this year is leaps and bounds worse than any of the last 4 season under Pep, keeping a clean sheet for Barca even against the shittiest La Liga teams has been very difficult. I am hoping for some magic but the realist in me is looking at it differently.

Valdes looking for the ref to blow the whistle instead of doing his job. World class goal keeper.
With Valdes leaving 100% in 2014 and possibly even this summer, the Spanish media has been throwing around
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marc-Andr%C3%A9_ter_Stegenas semi done deal. I don't know how legit and concrete this might be, but I honestly cannot wait. From what I read about him and the little bit of him that I have seen, he is an absolute monster and touted to be the next Oliver Kahn, even better than Neuer.

If you're talking about the first goal it was a blatant hand ball and the whistle should have blown. The ref was horrible, not that it mattered as his calls were equally bad for both teams but I can't see how you can fault Valdes when it looked like the whole team just watched Baoteng hit the ball expecting the whistle to go.

Edit: ter Stegen is a beast, more of a sweeper. A lot of LFC fans are hoping we get him in after we sell Reina this summer.

You play until the whistle is blown.

And Ter Stegen has supposedly signed a pre-contract for Barca, not that Liverpool would ever have a chance of signing him.

Barca's "problem" remains the same: it takes them 7263 passes to go past mid-field, so they always face a defense that is in position and they field an army of midgets, so they need to keep the ball on the ground. Against poorly organized defenses and with the talent they have in the front they often can find solutions, but against a well organized defense it all become very laborious and they need every single minute of their 70% possession rate to manufacture a goal or two. The problem for the well organized teams facing the Barca is that you need to make the most of your 30% while still making sure you'll be in position to defend as soon as the ball is lost.

That is what I was referring to. The Spanish media that reported this is highly inconsistent but if it is true, Barca have a very solid keeper for the next decade.

As you're noting by using the quotation marks it's not really a problem as they are that good to where they'll still find the spaces they need to score. Today was just different though in that even Messi looked just bad and when was the last time you could say that? It seemed that there was no real intent or purpose, the ball was moving with no speed and the player receiving the ball was almost always just standing still. Honestly it just looked bizarre and as a neutral observer you'd almost wonder if they had bet on the game or something.

It's not really a problem? Barca have almost become undone nearly every season by this style.
2008: Undone by United, methodical bus parking job in the semi (oh and that Scholes goal. <3)
2009: Nearly undone by CFC, saved by Referee & Iniesta goal.
2010: Undone by Inter the next season
2011: Dodged decent bus parking teams beating RM/United in the SF/Final. United didn't try to park..

2012: Undone again by Chelsea last season.
2013: Milan?
Trendy.
