Was travelling most of the day so just watched the Barca/Milan game late last night, the pressing was the difference and it resulted in just utter domination. 4 goals was actually pretty low for how badly they were kicking Milan's ass. Not surprising given the overall quality difference of the teams but it just makes you wonder where this Barca team has been the last couple of weeks. I don't think I've seen them press like that in a long time but when they pull it off it's just devastating.

On the bench.

When Cesc plays, it pushes Iniesta out of the middle and onto the left wing. Iniesta is naturally a middle dominant player and tends to drop back toward the middle. With Iniesta/Cesc in the middle, there is less room for Xavi to work his magic. In addition you have less people on the wings to spread the play and Messi often gets 3-4 manned since defenders have less to worry about due to little to no wing play. Villa basically played the entire game as a false target, dragging people away from the middle to free up Messi. That is basically the summary of the offensive side of yesterdays game. The defensive pressing was a whole other bonus. Not really sure what causes Barca to press like crazy some games and drop back and give opposition time in others.

With Tito coming back in less than two weeks, hopefully this MVP/Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets setup gets played again.

Next 5 minutes going to be absolutely INSANE. No matter what, a great effort from the Arse tonight - team showed a ton of spirit and guts.

EDIT** Bah, shades of Milan from last season. Can't fault the effort though - beating BM in Munich is no small ask - beating them by 3 clear goals was too much, even w/ a fully fit squad. SHIT!

It looked more that Bayern didn't care than anything else. Almost cost them, oh well.

Ridiculous Spurs/Inter game going here. Inter just won't go away - kind of gay that away goals count in ET, but it is what it is. Gallas is fucking terrible. Hoping Spurs win and lose the final!

Champions League quarterfinals announced this morning.

Barca vs. PSG - Fairly interesting tie, in addition Ibra will be missing the first leg due to his red card suspension.
RM vs Gala - Real lucked out and get one of the easier draws.
Dortmund vs. Malaga - Hopefully Malaga can continue their cinderella run.
Bayern vs. Juve - I honestly give the upper hand to Juve. Germans at this point in time do not have the mental strength to go through against a incredibly solid defensive team. Stacked defense and midfield for Juve will make this a low scoring affair but I still see them pulling through.

Malaga and Juve over Dortmund and Bayern, you're retarded.

I am not saying Malaga will win, I would like them to win but they are the clear underdog. The more La Liga teams that make it through (minus Real of course), the better.

In terms of Bayern vs. Juve, look at the Bayern numbers for the UCL games vs. what they have done in the Bundesliga. When you do that they look way less impressive. In addition, they haven't really played any strong teams that will make them the clear favorite. Their group was easy, they faced a beat up Arsenal team that has been iffy all season. I just think that people have been giving Bayern too much praise and it will show once Juve and the massive amount of experience they have comes to town.

Look at what Juve have before making Bayern the clear favorite. They have Buffon, one of the best goalies in the world and I would say easily on par with Neuer. Their back line with Chiellini/Barzagli/Bonucci is easily the best in the world and 3/4 of Italy's back, the same team that destroyed Germany in the Euro semis. Juve's middle with Pirlo/Vidal/Marchisio can easily go against what Bayern have. The match up seems exactly like the Germany vs. Italy semi. You have Bayern (Germany), the favorite, going against Juve (Italy), the underdog. I just have a feeling that people aren't giving Juve a fighting chance. Personally as a Barca fan, I would have taken Bayern over Juve if Barca had to play them. No interest in playing organized, tactical, defensive Italian teams.

PSG got some qatari owners who decided to spend enough on the team to push it into the european top tier. I suspect that for that plan to work they needed to buy 5 french teams to make the championship more competitive...

Spurs gonna Spurs by starting their annual end of season meltdown

Painful defeat to Liverpool and that Inter results just underlines how important Bale is to the team

Coming games are not getting any easier too. Time to sweat...

Fucking ManC's, Everton looks like it's falling apart and they don't even show up for the game today. Guess all LFC can do is beat Southampton and go from there....

Good result for the Arse. Swansea is a good side, but Cazorla absolutely controlled the match and his work rate won us the game. Walcott, as I predicted, has been shit since signing his new contract. Run in will be very entertaining for 3rd/4th place....

Fiorentina striker Luca Toni has advised team-mate Stevan Jovetic to join a 'top club' rather than Arsenal.
